@@dealloc Huh did you try this? I don't think so. Jetbrains has dotted (regular set) and slashed 0 (ligature set) built in. That settings is just including the other 0s character set. I don't see the ligature support mentioned on the website, only Mono and Sans character sets. Both look identical in Mono and in Sans the O is slightly fatter than 0, still hard to read. Not sure where you're getting a slashed 0 from, but pretty sure it isn't this font.

No well-made font is going to make the letters thicker and call it a day. They always need to modify the proportions to make sure they don't bunch up at heavy weights or feel anemic at light weights

It's a Germanism in the English language too so I don't know how familiar you are with the word but it basically means "time spirit" and it means kind of the mentality of a given time period.

Lemme nerd snipe you. back in the days vercel was called 'zeit'. 'zeitgeist' is probably the only beautiful - and truly unique - german word that you should definitely go and look up. This release makes me really happy because it reminds me of the spark I saw in a 'yet-to-turn-legend' man's eyes a few years ago that believed in his idea and trusted into himself. This font completes the circle. Kudos to you Guillermo 🎉🎉🖤

Call me crazy but I like to use (slightly) harder-to-read fonts when reading anything important, as it has been proven that making some effort to "decypher" makes you actually remember better the content. For personal use of course, not in web dev.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the NPM install thing. Google Fonts has pretty much made it standard practice to either link or css @import. Even Adobe provides a simple link url for their fonts.

It's misleading to use languages. English and most all European languages, Indonesian, Malay and Tagalog all use the Latin alphabet (with their necessary accents), and that accounts for at least 32 languages. I'll bet that this font doesn't have glyphs for abugidas like Khmer, Thai, or the various alphabets from India, let alone Chinese and Japanese.

Inter is more readable than Geist because of several factors, including font dimensions and hinting. Inter primarily adheres to the TrueType specification, which is more advanced and allows for more accurate shape rasterization. In contrast, Geist solely follows the OpenType specification, which tends to produce poorer results due to its limited hinting information. There are also several lower-level flags that are specific to the TrueType format, used by Inter and JetBrains Mono. Additionally, Inter's key metrics, like its UPM size of 2048 and stem widths, are always divisible by 8 (or any power-of-two values), allowing the font rendering engine to more accurately render glyphs onto the raster grid. Geist, on the other hand, uses a UPM value of 1000 and doesn't follow the aforementioned tricks which causes many inaccuracies in its rendering. However, since MacOS handles font rendering in a different manner and the displays of devices on thereof are very high resolution, font rendering has no effect on the quality. It's a different story on Windows due to ClearType, though

Hey Theo, I just got introduced with this lovely font with your video and implemented to my portfolio website that I lately built. It really made difference, looking good af. There is one problem though. We can't import and use this font in client components, it throws this error: @next/font/local failed to run or is incorrectly configured, just FYI. I solved the problem using the layout.tsx which is a server component in a route-groups that's already existing my project since my root layout is client component. Thanks for the content, love u !
