@@lessworkmoretravel It is because it's a rip off - the price stated there is per 100g, but what you usually get on the table is about 500g. To not be cheated you really have to ask for a portion of 100g.... We have an issue with this particular stand for about 10 years already, but the owner is a master in avoiding the court rulings.. Go just somewhere else, there are tons of extraordinary restaurants for a decent price... And thanks for correcting yourselves regarding the rivers name:) And to the food prices - as you have correctly stated, it is caused due to the inflation, which peaked at 18,1% in January 2023, but has gone down since then, we are currently at 12,7% for April, for May it should be around 9,5%.. It is caused by the Covid pandemic, but the biggest effect had the war in Ukraine - as Czech rep. was to 98% dependent on Russian gas, so you can imagine the shock for our economy when the price went from 22€ per MWh to astonishing 349€ per MWh... As we have luckily managed to fully stop buying gas from Russia since the 1st of January 2023, the inflation is going down, as we have rented LNG storage facilities in the Netherlands and are getting gas via pipe from Norway as well, the gas prices have stabilised by about 30€ per MWh therefore.. Just one remark more: at 11:50 - this is not a Chinese restaurant, but a Vietnamese - in Czech rep. there is the biggest Vietnamese community in Europe and we value them a lot, as they're very well integrated, hardworking and their kids are usually the best in our schools.. We have extremely negative opinions about Chinese, and we are the only nation in the whole EU who has the closest ties to Taiwan - from ordinary people to the highest representatives, meaning our government, our president etc.. Taiwans investment in Czech rep. is 16times higher than the Chinese one and we are now in process of multiplying it (f.e. the TSMC semiconductors company) and from July this year there will even be a direct flight Taipei - Prague.. We simply value them for their democracy and really hate the Chinese (from our own experience being for 41 years under the USSR and the Chinese stand to Ukraine right now)
