The Foodthief is a shortfim project that is currently under development by Mindbender Animation Studio. We made it a goal for ourselves to create a more flexible 3D rigg than anything we had done before. The solution became a rig with sliding body parts that could be turned on or of between the different poses. The rig was created with the help of the brilliant minds at Kippcase rigging studio.

The sliding limbs and the fact you could pull a humanoid figure out of the base rig is insanity to me. This rig is gorgeous!

I’m currently taking a rigging 1 class. We just finished our first humanoid rig and someone in the class asked how much more there can really be for the rigging 2 and 3 courses. Our professor showed us this and immediately shut that down.

I'll be watching this a few times over the next few years, I'm sure of it. One of (if not *the*) best rigs I've seen. I hesitate to call it a "rig" even.

Client: Yo, I was thinking about making a short film with a cat, but, the funny part about it is that I want the cat to look like a 2D cartoon, you know, very exaggerated, with a lot of expression, something like Tom & Jerry, something cool but not so complex could you do it? My man in the most crazy and creative night ever had: . . . . . This is amazing 😯...
