Hmmm, I have a boss guide, a guide for each item needed (but not in a list of one video), and I have a lore video that was made before all the story was out (it's still pretty accurate, with some guesses being wrong now but for the most part I feel like it would leave you with a better idea). I could make some "how to finish the game guides", wouldn't be out till later next week though if you wanted. I try not to watch any other youtubers that do content I do because I don't want to be using their ideas or being annoyed if I notice something off lol. A lot of "this is the best" (click bait titles) or "I'm the first to do this" (probably not) out there, decided I'm happier not knowing what people are doing or saying haha. Not to suggest that all The Forest youtubers do that or that they even do it all the time - or that I wouldn't like them if I did interact (some friendly to me are even in my featured profile section~!), just peace of mind, and simple mind for me to know that everything I do has no relation to someone else's ideas (unless we've been in direct dm contact, and then it means I've given them credit in the video) and that if they do something I think is silly or rude that I don't worry about it all cause I don't know about it haha. Ye-no, part of the fall damage equation (from experience, I don't know the literal formula) is a ratio of speed forward vs down. So if you're falling very fast and moving forward slowly then you take damage, meanwhile if you are falling very fast but also going forward very fast then you'd skip along the surface. If you start, land, and skip (because you'll bounce at those large speeds), in the right way then you could theoretically make it lol... but I'd say a great majority of the time will be dying. If you wanted to go down without going through the cave I'd say building a bridge across and jumping into the center water bit, or using ziplines (and also jumping into the center bit).

when i open ModApi a window pops up saying "Enter Gamepath" I did that but it doesnt let me press continue to fix that

It's possible you have the forest installed in a location separate from The Forest, or perhaps a non-steam version of The Forest (pirated, which ModAPI isn't designed to work for out of the box). If there is a path issue then I would check the userConfiguration.xml located in the modapi folder configs (open with text editor of your choice, save as same format though). Down near the bottom you can see what path it's pointing to and fix it if wrong (there should be one for steam and one for the forest.

It's possible that your anti virus is blocking it because of the way it looks (the program inserts itself into a .dll, that looks really bad to an AV lol). Could delete it and then get a new one (or just extract it from the archive again) and see if your AV pops any message up or any file vanishes while trying to launch it.

Any tips to take down that boss baby girl thing me and my mate are struggling hard and we have like 3 sticky explosives (we learnt to craft them from your video, thanks) a lot of arrow but we’re still struggling to take it down.

If you're on normal you can use fire (not so great on hard mode though). Also if you want you can craft a spear bag (new item), can see recipe by just hovering mouse over rabbit or boar skin on the craft mat cog. Important to bring medicine of course lol. My suggestion is when you trigger the scene have your team mate start pounding her with attacks, and then before she finally gets out of animation start dropping bombs and stuff at her.

Oh get the cassette player (easy to get on Yacht) or if you already have you can both start it playing and you'll get energy back if you need it. I mean sometimes you get there and your energy is slow, the cassette will increase it - that can be helpful :)

In effect, for non-hardcore survival, it's not entirely gone but if all you care about is strength then it's just eat whatever to have a net positive (have energy in you) and no "bad" calorie. However if you're thinking about losing or gaining weight or playing in hard survival you'll have to be concerned as was before.

I found some in open cases down in the caves but I was like "no way I'm going to tell people to go down into the depths to find one can" lol. Read on reddit that people found some in cases by the plane, maybe that was wrong? Thanks for letting us know where to actually easily find some though! Did you see them in all the villages or specifically the beach one? I was in the cannibal village and there were none ;/

On hard mode fire damage is halved from normal and it's like 35% for mutants (but they take less damage in normal already), so it sort of makes sense that fire feels bad in hard mode lol (still offers CC though :D).

Slightly but not really spoiler-y is one of them extended from what you know, with a fun new scene but just like before it still kicks you out to the main menu and the second which allows you to continue playing. That might make it easier to pick, if you had to choose one. (But definitely see both at some point).

Can I ask you how long it took you to complete the story ? I know people will say the game never finishes because you build bases etc but a game to me finishs once you complete the story I could never understand why people would play a game to build bases that have no point to them aka you build a base and defend it because you need survive while doing the story ....Once the story has finished whats the point in sitting in your base with nothing to do ?

If you had no guide or limited guide, and were not naturally skilled at the game / or playing hard mode, I would guess that the game would likely take around 10+ hours to complete with a general but not 100% focus on ending it. 20-30, maybe, if you were relaxed but wanted to finish the game and I can't see it taking longer unless you were extremely cautious, scared, or not naturally good at the game. You'd build up some basic amenities and begin wandering around, if you were brave you'd go far but still have to build up supplies every so often and if you were a normal person you'd come back to base almost each night. Then cave spelunking you'd build up supplies go down and explore, find some interesting things and come back out and build up more supplies. This process I imagine would take about 10 hours, if you were neither "bad" or "great" at games. There are a number of stories (told passively through placement of items and bodies, not active through dialog or quest text) and areas that are not required to beat the game that you can visit, having little information on what you're supposed to do would mean you might get more just out of the act of exploring. I would say that if you don't know where the things you need are that it's more likely you'll be going 10+, like this one isn't much of spoiler but you'll need the rebreather to go into some caves but now where do you get it.. there's about 10 different caves.. and if you don't look around you might even miss it.. hmmm.... :) This site may interest you: howlongtobeat.com/game.php?id=18962 (I think it polls real user opinions, not steam data - so bring some salt just in case lol) For myself having known where everything is I could probably bee-line all the tasks and complete it under 30 minutes on hard mode and not in some sort of cheesy glitch way but just doing the tasks in order ("speed run"), definitely so if it was on normal mode (hard mode closer to that time because I would try not to die, or might die lol). You get a lot more value out of the game if you don't rush the story and enjoy some base building and outposts here and there. If the only thing you want out of the game is the story then it'll relate to how well informed you are (where important stuff is) and how good you are at the combat. Hopefully that helped, tried to give an honest opinion on duration - I definitely have that playstyle of: the just started fall out 4 "gotta find my son-- oh wait I can do everything else first, good bye son I'll see you in 400 hours".

Just to add something ....I just watched a video posted in 2016 with the same ending so seems weird that since 2016 till now the game has only been made to look *slightly* better nothing to justify 2 years of beta so this also goes against my idea of a game .....WTF happened to a game being made then released and everyone can start to play them at the same time and if there are problems they patch it (they used to be able to release games with very little errors). Beta should be used to test the core mechanics this seems to have been a completed game years ago including story and story items and just patched over and over until they release it years later

There was a story patch long ago but that was just to give early access players a taste and a sort of thanks for hanging out, I do update videos each time so if you wanted you can watch them to see "what the hell they were doing" lol. They've added a lot of polish, fixed loads of bugs, added items, systems, and buildings over that time period - the first partial ending was just sort of a "you've been playing this for a year and we want you to know there is actually an end, thanks for being part of our early access". I suppose you might not like how long it was in early access, that's fair certaintly, but I mean I paid $10 and I've got a pretty bug free game that I easily got $10 worth of my time out of. Early access journey was worth it to me. The whole early access thing now days is allowing small teams to open up the dev process to the community in part, we're all half listened to unpaid team members (half because if they fully listen to players then games would always be a mess, too many contradicting opinions lol). I can see how people would feel negative about this aspect, but I also think its quite fun to be part of the development. Also how it can empower smaller teams to make much bigger projects than they would otherwise be able to make. It of course allows teams to create vaporware and run away with money - as we've seen with many under-delivered over-promised early access dumpster fires, but that wasn't this game. They've constantly delivered patches on time and now have released the game (with comment that they'll support it further into the future and add VR support).
