Hi everyone. If you are interested in the details of the sad accident with the American plane that crashed on Burn Fell then there is a link in the description above.

A stunning hike Dave. A peak is a peak even if it's a fence. And a Trig too. It doesn't get much better than that. Sadly there are a lot of crash sites across the Peak District too. Thanks for sharing Dave.

Hi Chris. Yes, I’ve seen many a video of the ones in the Peak District. There are three in the Forest of Bowland I believe. I’ve visited one of the other two. I will have to try and find the third. I’m glad you enjoyed the video mate and thanks as always for watching. 😃👍🥾⛰️

Hi Karl. Thank you mate. Yeah it’s a great area, always so quiet. On this walk, a Saturday, a dry day and I saw not one person out hiking for all the 6 hours I was out. I can definitely recommend the Forest of Bowland mate. Thanks for watching and have a great weekend. Weather looks shite unfortunately though. 🙁

Hi Dave, lovely video as always , puddleducks 😊 love it and we all know mr Hag only too well 🙈 Seen one or two crash sites up here too, think it’s nice that they leave the wreckage as a kind of memorial, always a poignant moment. Take care mate, Steven 😊🥾⛰️🏴🏴

Hi mate. Yeah Puddleducks Tea Rooms, nestled underneath Beatrix Fell. 😉 Yeah peat hags is what walking in this area is all about, those and bog. 🤣 It’s just amazing to think that the wreckage has been there for almost 80 years. I’ve visited two of the three now in that area and both have had a lovely headstone there. I thought the little crosses with the poppies on was a right lovely touch. All the best Dave 😀🥾⛰🏴🏴 Thanks for taking time to watch as always mate.

Nice stretch of the legs there Dave, some nice terrain with complimentary views. Always poignant to be close to one of the many aircraft crash sites, it just leaves a lasting mental image. Hopefully the snow is on the way to put a nice winter bonnet on some of your local hills.. ATB Kenny

@@scottishkennyg Ey up Kenny. The plane crash site was unexpected, it was nice to pay my respects in the total solitude. The Forest of Bowland is an area that is so beautiful but there is never anyone around, which I love by the way. You’re actually not miles from anywhere, but when you are in amongst the fells it seems like you are. No snow yet, just copious amounts of rain at the moment with more to come tomorrow, and strong winds. The forecast for the early part of next week looks good at the moment so I’ll try to get out in the Lake District. Have a great weekend mate All the best Dave 😀⛰🥾🏴🏴

Incredible scenery Dave and some cracking river valleys. I can gear the sound of the forest. It gas to be said it looks a wild area - I've checked it out online - fairly large. I imagine you got back buzzing. All the best. Mark

@@WyeExplorer Hi Mark. It’s a fabulous area, well worth a visit if you are ever up this way. Living in Blackpool these hills are so close to me. And the beauty is they are so quiet. You can walk for miles and hours and not see a sole. Once you get on to the open moors though prepare for bog, paths are definitely a luxury in the Forest of Bowland. 🤣 Have a great weekend mate. Dave

@@DAoutdoors It is I agree - I've checked it out before but you captured it really well. One day maybe. Hey, we love bogs. Ha ha! I will have a good one - you too. Peace.

Ey up Marra, haha, this is a belting walk, anyone could do this walk. It would be a cracker for anyone wanted to get in to fell walking. I knew nothing of the plane crash memorial so it was lovely to see. Obviously the circumstances were not nice but great to see those brave men are remembered. Loads of camping spots between Dunsop Head and Burn Fell, be a good summer camp it really would. Take care Marra. 😀🥾⛰🏕️

@@trekkingwithtony Hi Tony. There’s another one not too far away so I’m going to check that one out at some point. I can certainly recommend going to the Forest of Bowland mate, it’s a belting area, and so quiet. Make sure you pack your gaiters though.🤣 All the best mate 😀🥾⛰

@DAoutdoors19 күн бұрын
@@trekkingwithtony Hi mate. I’ve only ever had the Rab Trek Gaiters so I can’t recommend any others but they have been excellent for me. I’ve had them over three years now and I’ve never had to replace the strap that goes underneath. They ain’t cheap but as always with Rab you pay for quality. Hope this helps mate.
