I think what Ryan was trying to articulate is that God shows no partiality with respect to individuals in their standing before Him. We're all taken from the same clay and the reason God shows mercy to and accepts any of us is not found within us but for His own good pleasure.

5:44 angels were a terrifying sight on their own, most times in the Old Testament they came and began with be not afraid. Which in Hebrew the closet thing they had to that phrase was “stop screaming”. So maybe he was afraid of the angel just because of how terrifying it is to have an angel appear.

9:57 where do you get it was about food when the context of the chapter was an unclean gentile sought out Peter, Peter has a vision about clean and unclean, then proceeds to tell the three men the soldier sent that “God sent me a vision not to call any MAN common or unclean. The passage was not about bacon becoming clean.

12:53 and there it goes from one extreme to the other, it’s always either “meat is all clean now, or God wants you to be a vegetarian” neither are true.
