1. If BHVR had waited on Elm St the same way as they did for Alien, I really do think we could have had a chance at Robert Englund Freddy. Quentin's DBD lore was the only shining star of that chapter. They made him a dreamwalker that imprisoned himself in his own worst nightmare to protect the dreams of the girl he loves. Brilliant. 2. I think you should do an entire problematic video for Flesh and Mud just as you did for Halloween. Hag and Backwater Swamp have always been hated, the Hexes didn't get better counters or spawns until much later, and Ace is still one of the worst survivors in terms of teachables to date. While Halloween has aged like wine, Flesh and Mud has aged like cheese lol. Thank you for the video. ❤

Idk Hag's Chapter did introduce Hexes, and while they're not used much it still introduced a completely new game mechanic which imo makes it way better than the Twins Chapter.

This is very true! You deserve more upvotes as this mechanic was a major game changer. Huntress, Spirit, Cenobite, Deathslinger, Blight, Trickster, Knight, Artist, and now even Chucky have hex perks. NOED was reworked into a hex perk and is one of the most notorious of all perks in this game.

To me Twins is a great example of "awesome idea, horrible execution". The idea of a killer actually being multiple is a really fun premise that in theory would allow a lot of strategy, Victor's lunges can be really satisfying when they actually work and don't get stuck on 1 pixel of terrain, and they have probably my favourite killer lore in the game (also, the Mori with Victor attached is incredibly sweet in a really weird way). But they are just too clunky to be fun, even without all the bugs that they seem to be getting every patch.

To be honest, oppression could receive a buff to compensate for the 80-second cooldown, to where the 3 gens not being worked on will have the -2.5% applied to it, if it already does that then it could be upped to -3.5%. Or 4% to give Opression a little more early game value.

Yup. Binding of Kin was a weird time for the game. Killer was badly executed, buggy as hell and the perks were absolutely garbage. Talking specifically about Twins there, not Elodie.

Twins idea: Victor no longer damages upon latch. Removing victor causes u to suffer from exposed for 10 seconds and you are revealed with killer instinct (or aura if too strong) If u don’t remove victor after a certain time he damages u and jumps off to attack someone else. While charlotte is dormant, survivors within 16m are 3% hindered and remain hindered for 3 seconds after leaving range and gain killer instinct while in range. Victor makes no noise when idle and survivors r 5% hindered within range of him same as killer instinct, though killer instinct no longer appears with Victor. Upon returning to Victor he makes no noise for 6 seconds as in his little growl when approaching and charging his leap. If Victor downs you your aura is hidden for 15 seconds to other surviors and charlotte and you immediately return to charlotte after his animation of downing. Returning to charlotte by force is longer. Returning to her by choice is faster but your hindered for 3 seconds after if someone was detected by killer instinct. Killing Victor in his idle state gives you 25% haste for 3 seconds. Those are my thoughts as a consistent twins player. I’d love to hear feedback from anyone who absolutely loves or despises this and any adjustments you’d make to my change ideas 🙂

I’ve experienced that bug myself. I was playing as Deathslinger and had two Fengs who were duo queueing and one kept waving at me to follow mid match. Followed and she pointed at a completed gen and the other Feng was stuck repairing it. Got her off of it by shooting her and reeling her in. One of the funniest moments I’ve ever experienced in the game in recent years.

There is actually a use of luck that only few people know Luck increasing perks, addons or offerings increase chances of everything Such as chances of escaping trapper's vear traps, the key of reverse bear trap spawning close to you when trapped or even getting high rarity items from chests I think Ace's perk is pretty usefull for this

Hag is one of my mains and she’s still pretty good. She got a major upgrade with the Waterlogged Shoe add-on (it makes her base speed 4.73 and survivors get hindered to 3.64 in the presence of traps) and her rusted shackles add-on is just plain mean. I also think most of her perks are in good shape. Ruin is obviously the weakest one but it still has a place in certain slowdown builds. I think they need to 1) remove its reversion after a survivor is killed and 2) add a feature that makes it harder to cleanse. Maybe for every generator that is completed hex perks take an additional 10% longer to cleanse. Still, Ruin is great to pair with a perk like Deadlock, Thrilling Tremors, or Dead Man’s Switch because they’ll trigger the regression and prevent survivors from stopping it for a certain period of time. I think Devour Hope and The Third Seal are strong as they are though. DH is a highly rewarding perk in spite of its risk which is how hex perks should be. The Third Seal is just nasty though. As a survivor I’d rather have to deal with Plaything. Yes, being oblivious can be very detrimental but you can see the aura of the hex within a certain range and it only procs on being hooked. The Third Seal affects all survivors at once, procs simply by hitting them, and afflicts blindness which disables all aura reading perks alongside the basics like downed and hooked survivors. It’s another example of a high risk, as survivors can cleanse it right away, but a very high reward if you can get even 2 of them afflicted. Hag is also well-suited to using hex perks because you can trap them. Ace is one of my survivor mains, and yes, he has some of the worst overall perks in the game. Open-Handed is decent but there aren’t many other aura reading perks you can pair it with, and Up the Ante is just horrible and honestly all luck-based mechanics in this game (perk and offerings) need major reworks. I love Ace in the Hole for the same reason I love Appraisal: because I like being surprised by what I find in chests lol. The feature that allows you to keep your add-ons is good, but I think they need to buff it so that the first add-on has a chance of being ultra rare and the second very rare. That would make the perk more worth the risk since you can already bring items with good add-ons and don’t usually need multiple ones throughout the trial. I am sorry for my ranting I just realized I wrote nearly a whole book here… my apologies but Of Flesh and Mud was actually one of my favorite chapters overall so I ranted too much!

Binding of Kin is actually one of my favorite chapters. The Twins were extremely unique mechanically and their lore is extremely compelling. Badass French woman climbs mountains, fights off death cults, and survives the wilds out of pure love for her brother despite him being the reason she can't even have a normal life to begin with. COME OOOOON, ya gotta love that story!! Yeah, they do need a bit more interesting cosmetics, but the devs actually put WORK into making an interesting power. I honestly don't blame em for the bugs. How on earth are you gonna catch all the bugs with such a paradigm shifter!? There's so many new interactions with the environment! While the absolutely DISGUSTING and UNWARRANTED Victor pounce nerf dampened my enthusiasm to play them, they're my favorite CHARACTERS in the game. And if the devs botch the Twins rework, I will never forgive them. I don't care WHAT else comes out next, if you mess with my babies you've proven yourself entirely untrustworthy and I have no reason whatsoever to buy any other killer since you've conclusively proven you don't give two shits about their unique selling points. Hag doesn't deserve to be forgotten. Really interesting mechanically. I would say though that her story and Ace's story are unfortunately the weakest in the entire game (sorry Ace). I would say the chapterI forget the most is Freddy, except I remember VIVIDLY my frustration at his abortive rework and he should be remembered as the quintessential example of what NOT to do when reworking a killer.

As a steadfast Hag main, i agree that her chapter is often forgotten. However, at my mid-ish tier of gameplay skill, i've found hag to still be extremely viable, mostly due to the fact that no one knows how to play against her, ya know, cuz they never have to. Hopefully she never falls off completely, I find her lore to be fun albeit simplistic, and I really do think she can be strong with some practice.

I can see in the future End Transmission being a forgotten chapter. I haven't seen ANY Singularities since Alien, I've heard more people complain about getting Toba Landing, and I haven't seen Gabriel as much recently. Can't say too much on the perks but maybe Gabriel's perks stop it from being too forgotten

One of my first experiences with DBD was in 2021, where prior to personally playing, i wound up watching an old stream of Wayneradiotv, where he played the Twins ptb and got stuck in the ground as Victor, and could not switch back to Charlotte. He had to wait for a survivor to try to kick Victor for him to be able to actually play the game. That has forever been my association with the Twins, their incredibly buggy launch. However, I do personally enjoy playing them, and as I got into DBD, i started caring for a lot more characters and series i previously had no opinion on. I have never seen Nightmare on Elm Street, but as a diehard Quentin main, Quentin and Freddy deserve so much better (although i know thats license issues, not BHVR entirely). I wish Quentin had a holiday sweater :(

I know it's probably been said somewhere else but with Hag Introducing Hex perks, a reworked swamp on the horizon, and Ace being a decently used survivor even if his perks are shit, I think it completely outclasses A Nightmare On Elm Street. To top that off, my thoughts for the most forgotten chapter were Freddy's and Hag's, but I ruled out Freddy because I forgot he wasn't a paragraph and came with a survivor.

Honestly, I think you’re right. Twins got a better tome than hag, whose whole lore is just a mess of things that don’t make sense and don’t connect. However, I think Freddy is a bit more ignored, mostly because he’s and Quentin are the only characters that will never get anymore outfits. And it’s not even BHVR’s fault. They got the rights to the remake because New Line doesn’t want to pay Robert Englund for his likeness and the OG movie rights have reverted to the Craven estate. They’d probably have to make an entirely new chapter to get Robert Englund Freddy and even then they probably wouldn’t do that because it would piss off people who bought remake Freddy

As a Doctor main i really like oppression 😅 The cooldown is a bit too long but on him its honestly ok. I usually combine it with nowhere to hide and most survivors are catched off guard on 3 different gens, especially when shocked up to madness 2 before. That is quite nice and less expected than overcharge 😅

I won't lie, I can never forget the Binding of Kin chapter for two reasons. 1.Someone in a discord server is a Twins main. 2. The chapter broke my game and a lot of others on console. So many bugs were released with the chapter and while I do understand the difficulties the team felt thanks to the pandemic and new working environments... Most players on Xbox and more than likely Playstation could hardly play the game through the issues.

Elodie & the Twins are solid characters, but they'll never get any due love until their rework. The Twins are unfun to play and not all that much of a blast to play against either. Not to mention the way they're constantly bugged. Power Struggle had a strong uptick of use lately though because of how anti-sluggy the meta is now. Freddy and Hag are almost as forgettable but at least they're playable. Open-Handed is GREAT, though. Seriously underrated.

I don´t really agree with your takes on Elodie´s perks. Deception has become sort of a standard on content creators "troll the killer" sort of builds, and power struggle has been really popular in anti-slugging builds with flip-flop, and specially now with the advent of plot twist. I wouldn´t say it´s at the level of monsters like adrenaline, windows or ds, but I would argue it being amonsgt the 20 most popular survivor perks at least. I would say the most forgotten chapters would definetly be of Flesh and Mud, and a Nightmare on Elm Street, over a Binding of Kin.

If we are talking about licensed chapters that are forgotten. I would give it to Alien. I get it, it hasn’t even been a year, however, I never seen Xenomorph. Since his release I’ve played against Xenomorph twice. In terms of Ripley, on both survivor and killer side, I’ve seen a Ripley like 3 times. I do see their perks a lot especially Rapid Brutality and Ultimate Weapon, Alien Instinct I never seen. I never see Lucky star, and then I see the occasional Light Footed and Chemical Trap. In terms of the map, it’s a meh map and I rarely see it. I think this chapter suffers from the devs not releasing it on Anniversary which would have made an extreme comeback from Knight and SM. Singularity was good but what the game needed was Alien to have that massive comeback. The game is recovering since Nic Cage, Alien and Chucky. But out of those three Alien is probably the least memorable. I also think releasing two Sci-Fi full length chapters back to back was just too much.

Personally, I think roots of dread was a very forgettable chapter for a long time. Particularly because of how much the developers forgot to give anything of substance to haddie. She got a few cosmetics within the first few months, then basically nothing for the rest of the year. Dredge was and still is a solid, unique killer, but he doesn't get played as often as he used to, and the garden of joy has lost relevance in the map debate too. I think this gets compounded when you look at everything else released in that year: project w, an all around great chapter that was popular, followed up by two very controversial chapters in forged in fog and tools of torment, both of which received much more publicity at their release. Because of all of this, and how little dredge and haddie have been touched still, I think this is definitely in the top 5 of most forgotten chapters. Which sucks bc it's actually one of my personal favorites.

Another reason of flesh and mud is forgotten is the fact it's part of the base game on console. So to console players they aren't even dlc

i’m a huge ace fangirl, and it is quite understandable why of flesh and mud is very forgettable. his and hags perks are absolutely terrible, and the map is just boring as hell. and, most of the games i’ve had against hags always camp and add about 7 traps near hook, so that isn’t very enjoyable either.

So this is just my personal opinion but I prefer swamp over some of the never maps BECAUSE of the color scheme. For example the map that came with singularity or with the knight. Those are cluttered and just visually overstimulating. Way too much random stuff lying around (you can get stuck on so many stupid things these days) and just you sometimes dont even see pallets or windows because there is too much stuff. I miss some of the old maps before rework because in some regards they were just clearer and easier to play on. But thats just my opinion :)
