There's also an ending where you shoot Proserpina's cage, steal her crown, loopback and use that to get Pluto to leave. But the ending is the same as 4. You can also shoot Sentius as soon as you arrive, but that ends up in ending 1. No loop completion though.

I think it is rather sad that the ending where you kill Proserpina and threaten him to do so endlessly has the same exact resolution as the ending where you peacefully convince him of his own wrongdoing. Even down to his final words being, "The many have suffered for too long." Seems out of place.

I didn't know that releasing Sentilla would lead to an ending, so when I accidentally got into the cistern and found her I immediately loaded a save file because I wanted to talk to Pluto before finishing the game, tuns out that it also gave me an ending and despite being the best one I wasn't sure how I could save Sentilla, but when I found her in the museum I was genuinely happy to see that even without my intervention she could be saved.

Lol, I got ending 4 in a different way. I killed Proserpina and took her crown. I then ran back through the portal and threw it at the God of the underworld and warned him that I would kill her over and over unless he set everyone free.

If you think about. Sentius knows how to make the ritual to bring you back in time. That means that he must remember things from the loop.

he knows how to create the loop because Proserpina teaches him how to do it when she begins to fear humanity will run out of coins to complete the wager, however you are correct in that he can remember what happens each day BECAUSE of his connection to the portal, which he explains to you in at least ending 2 (which is one of the endings i got along with 4)

Pluto straight up seems like a Goa'uld. He pretty much admits his kin are highly advanced sentient beings who took human forms because they enjoyed them; and posseses higher strength, intellect, lifespans and technology, and are revered as gods. Even the eyes glow and his garments seem to be similar. I wonder if the author was inspired by stargate. Perhaps more in line with the Tok'ra than that of Ra and his cabal. Or perhaps a little bit of both. A load of hubris and a sprinkle of compassion.

I wished they had leaned into the simulation hypothesis instead of the ancient alien theories. Or found a way to fuse the two ideas. Could've made for some interesting ideas. But other than that I have zero complaints. Some of the most thought provoking dialogue I've ever experienced in a game.

Could talk more about the hypothesis? I do get the feeling that the story, albeit beautiful, emotional, and extremely engaging as a first-person RPG, is a bit far-fetch as a sci-fi. As the aliens pretty much upend physical laws as we know them at will and yet hit unknown limitations. And the ability to wind back time for other aliens included is breaking the settings. Ignoring the "overpowered" time loop, I find the pieces fit neatly together while maintaining an element of surprise.

When physicist's and computer scientists say they believe life is simulated what they are talking about is quantum computation quantim physics and the like. Whats really interesting to me personally is the countless religious stories told that tell stories of creators. Of the afterlife. I often wonder if these arw stories about the creation of our universe as as a simulation. Even Christians sat we are created in Gods image but what if that image is us. The stories have been rewritten and lost in translation. What if our fears and hopes for ai and transhumanism arw just our psyches reminding ourselves of history repeating itself. What are the ethical ramifications when we can simulate life. What kind of interference can we cause. Could the afterlife be a data ba k for all creation. I wonder if man made us and left the computer behind as god. I wonder if a firewall is what keeps negative influences with god like power out.. How malleable our own history and future is within the constrictions of a quantum universe. I think theres beauty in this idea.creation all the way down. Maybe irs a endless tunnel of simulated beings creating simulated beings. Giving us eternal life through the quantum manipulation of time. Hades and Persephone could have easily still made it in the game if only to draw the similarities between ancient religion and the science the theory and the wild implications of a simulated universe. The possibility's really do be ome endless

Debate Pluto on the golden rule, choose the choice at the bottom that is essentially "I give up" and then you can debate more and get a free no kill persopina ending

I loved the game at very high levels, my only disappointment and the one in which I wasted a lot of time was that endings 2 and 3 are very similar, I would have expected something like interacting directly with Proserpina or some way to physically get out of the hole like we did they were saying.

@@darrickfoster8694 Not necessarily. With the crown option, it feels more like you bested him, like you have the upper hand. He’s legit scared of you. Still, not like it really matters - both endings are considered Ending 4.

I love this game but these two lines at 26:51 coming from a supposedly incomprehensibly powerful being irk me. Perhaps it is meant to convey how, despite being hyper intelligent and logical, he is nonetheless susceptible to human emotion and he is entirely earnest with you about that, but no being who would compare your existence as comparatively equivalent to that of insects would, in my opinion, be so explicitly open. That is, unless he is as he says he is, a being utterly devoid of sin and thereby deception. However, it seems his own lines here run contrary to this. He is not devoid of sin, as he expresses a realization of his tyranny. That being said, this phrase may well emphasize best of all his coming to that realization. Perhaps it does have merit, but it's candor still feels rather sudden given his obvious spite at even the question of his being equal to you.

Then again, this irks me no where near as much as the idea of the universe checking for paradoxes and thus "flinging you back to your time" as if there is a bug fixing program made to neatly resolve logical loose ends. It is only in formal, human systems wherein paradoxes arise, as in reality there are no true contradictions. That being said, it is all in good fun. Ultimately, everything I have said was born out of love..... for this game! I love it!

I got the first ending out of pure curiosity because I figured out that at the beginning the guy who is doing the loop was magistrate when I shot him with the golden bow. I actually was sent back to the beginning of the game and that’s how I got the first ending.

I played games since I was 5 years old, Im 33 now. My intrest goes from this to space and lost history (sumerian/annunaki/alien gods) so when I played this thrru with its story I was BAFFELD!!! THIS IS THE BEST GAME IVE EVER PLAYED! The story is AMAZING and I LOVE the sumerian recognition its just a masterpiece GOOOD WOOORK!! I would rather have ending 3. While I find the Golden Rule/Experiment stiff, I find it a necessary evil. Whatever happens in the underworld after some of the humans escape, it's going to change everything for the gods and those survivors. It's going to be those humans's struggle to survive and earn freedom of their own. It's going to be an "Angel Beats" sort of struggle, except the law of the fittest is going to be more important.

Wow! Bad ending makes no logical sense at all. Sentius dies in the other two 'good' endings, yet you don't get the same dialogue from Al lamenting about being 'stuck' there. That makes absolutely no sense that he would be stuck because the protagnist was the one who killed Sentius, it should be the same result regardless. The character development for this game is pretty good, but I have to say that some of that dialogue is poorly conceived and written. A bit overrated.

The best ending made me so sad :(, I was loving the game, really, but this type of game doesn't deserve a telenovela-ending like this one: oohh look! all good people you saved are alive, well and have amazing lives!!! all bad people got punished in ironic ways!! the cringe was real :( zero sublety, this ending punches you in the face with a so nauseous "happy ending" that borders on self-parody levels. This ending is potentially deadly for people with diabetes. Hey people! if you haven't seen the best ending, I'm warning you!!! DO NOT SEE IT!!! you will die of vicarious embarrassment!!! :( !!!!
