There are places where there are multiple styles of columns in real life aswell, even though it is unusual. For instance if you look at the great mosque in Kairouan they collected all different styles of columns from all over the ancient world.

I think people are misunderstanding what yolo means. In the video footage shown at least Jon NEVER Died. Other people Died but HE never died he runs back to the time portal ALIVE to bring the items he found back to into the next iteration. Not sure why people think yolo mean no time travel.

The white hallway is very sci-fi looking, so it will be ovious when you find it, the other side of the hallway is very sci-fi and spoilery and has all the answers it is very late in the game. You can get some endings without ever entering it! Even one of the good ones!

That's probably were some major answers to what exactly is happening are like the time loop and where they are exactly, something that recontextualizes the whole story, haven't played it but that would seem likely. If anything that would be more incentive to go out and buy it after getting so invested in watching a playthrough up to that point. Also a game like this looks like you could miss some things in a single playthrough depending on the path you take.

The Angles did exist 2000 years ago (or at least the tribe that the English got their name from), but rather lived on the Anglia/Angeln Peninsula (Engla land) in far Northern Germany. This is on the other side of the Jutland Peninsula to where the North Frisian language is still spoken today by the related Frisian people.

A lot of the dialogue and plot points seem to rely on there being more than just 23 people living in this city. Things like bribery, intimidation, hidden relationships, extortion etc wouldn't be able to be kept secret with so few people around.

I was having the same thought as I was watching this then I remembered the RPG rule: Every NPC represents at least ten different people. Using that you can imagine that there are more like 230 people in the area which makes it make more sense. It's odd but I find it helps the suspension of disbelief.

Absolutely loving this! One small quibble, there was a line about a great fire in Rome which seemed to be a reference to fire that swept the city during Nero's reign. Seeing as how Nero was after Claudius, that would mean that Brittania is already part of the empire.

Unless not everyone came here from the same time or at the same time. It seems unlikely that the assassin has been there much longer than the player has. Otherwise he would either know about the golden rule or the whole place would have turned to gold already. Also he doesn’t seem to have a clue that he’s trapped.

Kudos for the auto-follow feature! Even bigger kudos for a proper accounting of the Roman practice of decimation. Decimation does not mean the same thing as obliteration or annihilation yet seems to have assumed that identity in modern English.

We have an idea that it's early imperial even without the "from Galia to Judea" line. He's said Rome's existed for 800 years. If it's exactly 800 years, then that's 48 CE, which puts us in the middle of Claudius's reign, but even if we assume he's rounding, we're Tiberius-Caligula-Claudius-Nero.

It doesn’t matter though since the ancient Romans would be no more familiar with these new Latin words than they would with modern English words. Also the Latin the Pope speaks is very different to the Latin Romans from this time period spoke

Basic column identification guide Doric think Dork as it looks like a scroll open half way Corinthian looks like it has a potted plant at the top (they used to paint these things) Ionic just a flat disk at either end and if it has the indentions along the length of the column that's fluted. Fluted style was in style when columns were made in the corinthian style so if you see fluted on Doric or Ionic then that is a modern column

Several things, I suspect that sentilla is the woman you met at the beginning of the game who sent you after al. Two why wouldn’t killing a peeled statue be counted as murder if they were the people trapped in the statues after the last cycle. For that matter why wouldn’t killing and eating that guy count. Three oh god if the people in those statues are still alive and can’t die I feel so bad for the guy tied to the wheel and suspended over a fire. And last the wine you found said it was possibly the last bottle of wine, I wonder if the gladiator might find that valuable.

For the "peeled" (God why) statues, my guess is that they are no longer considered people by "The Golden Rule", more akin to an animal. And animals can't commit crimes, and killing one isn't a crime.
