Well, I queue EU/East Europe and while certain BRs are completely fine, some I have given up on completely due to queue times. Trying to get a match with 8.0 germany (raketen, leo1, M48C) literally takes 10 minutes just to get a 6v6 where everyone quits after 1 death. I suspect this is because the enemy team is made up of only china and USSR, with USSR having practically no lineup. Any by that I mean it's literally just T-54s and AAs. Which is exactly the same stuff (minus their heavies), as they get in another rotation agaisnt weaker NATO vehicles.

The only thing im distasteful about in simulator battles is that in ground sim you can only play certain battle ratings on certain days, otherwise its a fun game-mode.

How to make sim more enticing: 1. Use realistic battles BRs (like i though the whole reason for that was to not have copy paste vehicles fight each other but they allow it?) 2. Remove all copy paste vehicles from the team opposing the country that manufacturers them 3. Put aircraft behind an SP AND kill limit (do this for RB too) 4. Remove hit cam entirely 5. Remove the death shot camera 6. Remove the few seconds after you die where you spectate the enemy I understand the last 2 were ADDED to sim because people would cheat and be hard to detect but that's why we have the replay system, if you felt like someone was cheating then just watch the replay after the match. Right now sim is just a war crime try not to TK while you aim from your gunner sight realistic battles, not different enough to justify it's existence.

For the copy paste ones I disagree a bit. Captured or lend lease tanks should stay in their side, but tanks such as the East German T72 should go to the opposite side instead of on germany.

I remember when sim battles were part of the normal matchmaker. I was actually able to play it back then. Now the vehicles in rotation on the playlist are usually something I don't have because of how high the BR bracket they've chosen is, or they're from a tech tree I'm not very far down, if at all.

when using modern tanks with laser rangefinder in sim, the gun sight will automatically compensate for both range and paralax, so where you point is where shot will land and u wont have an encounter like with that t90m

Because Sim battles the planes are tough to pilot, I only do bombing runs on simulator matches, any fighter maneuvers, my plane spins out for the minimal input. And for tanks it's hard to tell who's on your team or not, plus the fact you get killed at spawn by your own team a lot. Also the not being able to use the third person camera makes me sick

SB was better when you had the choice of one type of ground vehicle and only two guaranteed spawns in it, while simultaneously only having one guaranteed spawn in an aircraft. . . This system gave reason and being to not dying in an aircraft, even if you spawned with a full loadout of weapons, since when you died. You died. And thus were stuck in a tank, and vice versa with ground to air. . . The entirety of ground modes also prevailed with the prevalence of cover and such locations that could be fought over rather than destructible concealment, but whatever lol. . .

I think if they re-upped sim battle rewards or at least let them influence the battle pass more, AND make them a little more open with multiple BR ranges playable instead of just a set every 24 hours. Then Sim would get its community back. I have nearing 600 hours in the game and i pretty much have been playing on and off since the beta, and i barely this year got into 1 singular sim battle. The appeal never got me but its intense fun and I would love to try again but i always see high BR matches only

On modern tanks, the gun is not slaved to the gunner optics. This means that, when you use the LRF to aim at something, the gun will correct itself not only vertically, but also horizontally to hit exactly where you aim. This works really well at 500m and above, but you can LRF a random distance like 300 and something just for that horizontal alignment. It makes it much easier to shoot at close range from optics, you would probably have hit that T90M lower front plate (actual skill issue 🤓).

Gaijin messed up sim mode when they changed xp and silver lion boost for sim battles. I used to play sim battles a lot and it was really nice experience as I was progressing faster than or realistic battles.

The rewards currently make sim RNG if you get any RP or SL. the 15 minute timer shit is BS and an awful change. It also did nothing about the "zomber invasion". Those people still play fine and well. To be honest, I main both, and it’s a complicated question but china is more for beginners, you get a taste of American and Russian tanks early on, and their top tier tanks are pretty good too, I don’t know much about aircraft but have seen they are decent at best. Just go for what nation you think is the coolest in my opinion, go for the tank you want, for example I wanted a leopard, so I played Germany, now I want a vt4 so I play china 🤷‍♂️ Hope this helps!

4:14 skill issue, even if you shot, you probably hit destroyed tank with parallax 3:35 leopard PL got 3rd gen termals, not 2, and in sim you got parallax from gunner anyways, so you can use commander sight for leopards 2a5/2a6/pso which got 2nd gen thermals unlike gunner
