It was planned in cnc 4 but due to budget cuts, it was scrapped

They might have tried again after the Tiberium FPS game got cancelled. A story arc this important getting cancelled twice? I doubt budget was the main reason, they probably wanted to keep as much profit as possible, so uses budget cuts as an excuse to cut something from the game...

Tiberian Trainwreck takes place after the Tiberium FPS, apparently. Maybe if Tiberium was released, C&C4 would have been a better game...
