The AC73 Whirlwind in Crossout is based on the M242 Bushmaster 25mm Chain Gun. In Crossout it's a slow firing Autocannon that used to be really powerful now it kind of gets outclassed by most other weapons in the game. Today we are taking a look at how they perform in Crossout's Current Meta.

The damage test wasn't a good representation of the autocannons effectiveness, it basically only showed how it would perform if I shot at a cabin only and builds have a lot more than just a cabin and I also forgot to mention that some deal bullet damage and some only deal explosive damage. I'll correct this mistake and redo the test in another video I have planned.

Hey JBRider, im not a current player, but how do groundbased whirlwinds perform against helicopters? I hear helicopters and mechs are heavily unbalanced, and wonder what weapons with upward traverse may be able to compete

Try with a ghost cab and cloak. I use this with my stillwinds and have been thinking about using my whirlwinds at a lower powerscore level. Ghost cab slaps now. What do you think?

Crossout matchmaking really said “5 figures power score means 5 figures” 10.5-16K is wild work

If you have anything higher than 8k then it'll match you with 16k

The damage test is a disaster cause the auto cannons do explosion damage which isn't really used on the sphere

Agreed. Chewing up a leviathan built to model a car build would be the only accurate way to get a read on that blast damage to surrounding parts

@@JBRiderhave you thought of a was scenario video for crossout? Eas scenarios are scenarios of things happening that is displayed through the eas alarm. There any many types of way to do it and I never thought of a crossout one since it would be perfect to do if done right And one was scenario for example called 7219 shows some clips to add onto the EAs scenario to make it more intriguing then the other eas scenarios.

There's 2 different types of spheres to test on, one that measures total damage and another that measures total and blast damage

@@_0_0___ doesn't matter, it's only 1 piece of structure You're hitting. When used against real builds you hit alot of parts due to splash damage

Whirwinds are my mains and they are crazy strong if you position yourself carefully and have a good aim. I don't think they need any buff, they are strong. They shouldn't change their sound thought, the old one was much better.

This game is really not in a good place, I feel. The development strategy has very clearly focused on draining every cent they can from remaining players, and they don't have much of a desire to attract more. Balance is a thing of the past.

6:05 you actually give very constructive comments about items and game mechanics without favorising your favorite build wich can only be good for a game with as much things to consider when balancing. Played autocannons in old clan wars on Xbox for a long time. You shouldn't let them overheat. They cool down quicker if you stop shooting before they do. And you should never hold fire. Tap fire is essential. The projectile spread gets wider for each consecutive shot if you hold fire. I've consistantly killed good scorp players with the whirlwind hover. Watch out for those dogs though!

i rarely tap fire, so i use coolers only with Whirlwinds. The spreads not bad, quicker overheat but faster cooling.

This is my favorite weapon. These things do WILD damage if you use Catalina or harpy. I run them on a spider build. I just love spiders in general so I can constantly face the enemy. I can conservatively get 2000 points per game with these weapons. I run 2 whirlwinds and a ac50 storm.

The starfalls are serious weapon strippers if you can use them properly turn auto aim off and it will be easier to constantly get the air burst effect.

powerscore above 10k is hell. as an 11k player, i get thrown into 16k lobbys all the time. they need to fix it, but they wont.

True. Even the current event (Christmas Hunt) has this issue. Normally I would use a lower PS build for that, but I tried to use a 10k build, and got matched with 20k ps players. Even Wave 1 was ridiculous... :\

"Forgotten'? I use these every day, lol. Especially in Raids (Normal & Hard) where I use 3 of them on a Catalina Cabin, a fused RN Seal and a fused cooler. :) Amazing damage output with a 10-stack on the Catalina. ;)

The stillwind perk should to dissable enemy radars and slow enemy weaopns fire rate for 2 seconds cooldown per enemy hit is 10 seconds

The complete imbalance of powerscores doesn't just make it tough to do videos, it makes it tough to play the game. The game is already hard enough when you can slap super high tier weapons on a lower end body and just seal club away. These people don't also need the advantage of being able to be thousands of points higher in PS, too. Right now in my PVP matches, I am not seeing a terrible discrepency in my 4500-ish PS builds. The matches are usually pretty close and I might see a couple of 5200 scores, but for the most part, everything is around 4-5K. In the raids, my 5000 build will get into teams with 8k+ and that completely throws everything off, because the enemies scale on the top PS, which completely nerfs my ability to contribute.

Yeah, thanks for the tip, but I found it tricky to pull off consistently and enjoy full auto more. That's the reason you don't see me often with those tap fire machine guns. Works too for imps, but not worth the extra tapping for a small DMG increase imo

Using 3 storms with a Julie does more damage than most of these because of the lower power of the storms this is possible

Stillwind needs a buff/change of perk. They are way too easy to shoot off! Otherwise you cant go wrong with any autocannon.

I don't think it is whining to ask for the game to be improved. At this point, what is the justification for the Whirlwinds to cost more energy than the other ACs in the same class? It doesn't do more damage per se, it is not more accurate, so what's the reason for the extra 2 energy cost?

You really can't call this a sniper when it does so little damage per shot and fires so rapidly. It's long range dakka. Again, it's all about DPS! 😂 Would really love to see you do a proper sniper build, if it actually exists in the game?

Whirlwinds were my first Epics. Best option for newer players. Sit back and snipe. I say don't use Radiators, just coolers, so you don't have to Tap fire. I don't use them much tho, not many slots available to save stuff tho.

The matchmaking goes that far that noone wants to group with me anymore. With my normal Friends i cant Play since 1-2 years....when i Play 10 k Hover i Play vs 17 Legends Teams with shotguns, i Take 10k melee i Play vs 17k Legend Hover Team ...i Had over 100.000 Matches with average of 5...after a few months im 4.90 ....that must awesome much Zero rounds looses.....im getn isolated, Games are too unfair and i cant even try weapons because crossout also gives me the prefect equivilant with enemies and maps. I saw many old Players Go and perhaps after 8 years i have to Go aswell .... Not playavle for me(

Whirlwind a sniper wep? Snipers are supposed to have a certain amount of accuracy Assembler was once sold to us as a sniper wep. It cant hurt a fly but no one can say that its not accurate But Whirlwind can hit a barndoor unless you are standing right in front of it. And for that we have Whirls and Tempest The only true sniper wep we have is Scorpio. The question we should ask though is; Does crossout need a sniper wep? Does it do anything for gameplay to have campers shooting across the whole map? Lets hear what yall think pls...

@@ristorantanen5769 In my opinion as a free to play player, we need access to weapons that can help us compete with the other weapons in the game that we can't get access to. I feel that the autocannon might be that weapon, as long as you have some skill to the game. I use to do a lot of run and gunning with MGs, it fit my play style of being super fast, light, and hard to hit. But, MG damage is pathetic and it was always hard for me to get high scores because I was always not doing enough damage and could barely kill anything in matches or raids without dumping tons of ammo...which is now a thing for all guns when it never used to be. Autocannons give me a punch that I didn't have before, and I now have to adapt to being sneaky and/or tanky and stay at range, unless I am using something akin to a therm which acts more like an MG. I can compete very well with these weapons in the 4-6K PS range. Anything higher than that, I am overstepping the output of my special tier autocannons and would need to step up into the epic tier at that point.

Dude use what every cab you want i you the Catalina all the time especially with whirlwinds because of the damage drop off at close range just be yourself if they dont loke it so what. They will still watch regardless......
