Honestly I think militant is forgotten because of it being a generic shooting tower, I wouldn't doubt it more people used it before the rework then now, it has no special mechanic.

Nice to see it finished this time! I think the main issue is definitely being outclassed. Gold soldier especially has the same base DPS, and higher max DPS than militant for a cheaper cost. And minigunner is just a stronger version of it, so no real point buying him. And yes I do agree he's such a bland tower with the most basic animations. If there was a rework it would probably be very fun to play with, maybe it could potentially get an ability similar to John?

I really want old militant animations back, his old animation actually aims. While the new one just looks like he’s saying “yea cool I’m shooting zombies”

the problem with militant is how generic and useless it is because in tds your either going for your early game towers or your late game ones mid game towers are rarely used i wish they gave militant better stats but also have the reload back so he can stand out a bit more because right now it's a jack of all trades expect it's below average in each area instead militant went from a fun bad tower to just the most mediocre tower in the entire game

tbh the reason militant doesnt get used alot is because it has no special property it used to have a realoading debuff which everyone hated but made it unique from other towers ever since it got buffed it became your generic shooting tower and nobody cared about it anymore to make it relevant again i think it should have a special buff like a unit summoning ability or a damage buff ability that buffs tower to make it unique from other towers

Tbh ive been using militiant in my loadout for so long and i can agree, it can solo molten quite good and if you are able to get two lvl 2 militiants your set until the breakers come and with support it can do well (Yes i still do use militiant to this day rather than minigunner)

It was ment to be a middle ground between the starter towers like scout and soldier and end game tower like minigunner but simply just got outshined by better towers and is pretty much useless...

All they need to do is to add back the Militant (John Tower)'s rage ability and maybe move it up a tier if the game thinks its old damage buff is broken for whatever reason. The John Tower was never boring because of its main utility. The devs just decided to gut it and made it a worse version of the mercenary from Tower Battles.

Militant isn't bad, it's just irrelevant because it doesn't have any difference from Soldier or Mini. There are different, better options for an ability for Militant. Why can't it have an ability to summon a unit, for example?
