Aluminum idea looks great and those columns awesome. Miters would have looked like a bag of ...holes after they started opening up over time. Lots of great ideas and use of materials here.

For your awareness galvanic corrosion can develop when two dissimilar materials (such as aluminum) are in contact with stainless steel.

Yep, been there done that It will corrode and weaken. If I was the home owner that wouldn't fly on my job.

I'm not on Instagram so it wasn't me that commented but a while back I was thinking about the mitered corners as well. But when you said 800 pieces, I knew miters were out of the question.
