Considering Remedy is a Finnish company, and their games take a lot of inspiration from Scandinavian mythology, the theory that the Oldest house is a version of Yggdrasil is pretty much considered canon in the fandom (leading to other worlds, having laylines, being a magical building by itself and having an entity looking after it - Ahti) There are a *lot* of secrets in this DLC (and the other one too), ones you honestly can't find and complete without looking them up or doing extensive runovers through the area. The one involving maneki nekos gives Jessie cute cat ears (wish I could brag about doing it without the help of the internet, but who am I kidding, it's ridiculously hidden)

1:31:13 This is VERy similar to the poster fetured in Shawshank Redemption. The wall behind the poster was also destructible and hid a Maneki-Neko. Find 8 more and you can get a VERY RARE cosmetic item in the game ;) I am aware y'all have finished the game, just leaving this here just in case of a future replay lol

20:50 The ground floor of Central Research (outside the cafeteria) actually has a quote from Dr. Ash in gold letters, embedded in black marble. I believe that was the first time we heard anything about him. The quote was: "For who among us has touched the foundations of this world and deemed them solid?" There was also the mention of something called, "The Ash Act". It is an regulation that is enforced by the FBC and it prosecutes individuals and groups who take illegal advantage of the paranatural world.

52:00 the Oldest house was discovered August 4th, 1964 (they have the date on those paintings _way_ at the beginning of the game in the executive sector). So these logs are presumably from the next year or two

You did find the thing in Langston’s room! It was the Altered Item document about the Oh Deer Diner thermos! You missed it the first couple of times you were in there, but found it in a later video. There was also a fun little easter egg in one of the containment cells in the Panopticon (it’s pretty hidden), but other than that, it feels like you got pretty much everything. The Former is so interesting, I loved how it and The Board were both trying to sway Jesse to their side with gifts. Really hoping it’s The Former that gets Jesse in that divorce lol. Really excited for the AWE dlc!! It’s shorter but it’s my favorite of the two dlcs. Great playthrough as always!

Damn, six hours. This is gonna take a couple days to watch. Glad you're enjoying the game, for some reason I bounced off this particular DLC extremely hard and never returned despite loving the base game and the AWE expansion. Hope the gap between AWE and Alan Wake 2 won't be too long.

You thought that some of the mods in the base game were situational and pointless? Well, you ain't seen nothing yet! Prepare for some absolutely bizarre, HIGHLY situational stuff like "ammo cost while levitiating" and "shield strength after a levitating kill" or whatnot lol Sorry game, but nothing is gonna beat a high level, classic mod like health recovery, energy recovery, launch efficiency, shield strength, damage boost, damage to shields etc.
