Motherhood can be a beautiful AND difficult experience. During postpartum recovery, mothers can experience mental health challenges and painful physical symptoms that leave them feeling confused, lonely, and ashamed with little to no support.
1 in 5 new and expecting mothers experience perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs). Over 60% of pregnant and postpartum women experience diastasis recti (abdominal separation). These all-too-common changes can make mothers wonder, "Is this just my new normal?"
We teamed up with Every Mother to talk about the challenges of postpartum recovery, both physical and emotional. Watch our webinar recording, "The Fourth Trimester: Postpartum Mental Health & Physical Recovery." 💗
Panelists:
• Catherine Birndorf, MD (Co-Founder, CEO and Medical Director at the Motherhood Center)
• Leah Keller (Creator, Co-founder, and Chief Creative Officer at Every Mother)
• Janelle Jones (Mother of two who experienced postpartum depression, diastisis recti, and pelvic floor issues. Recently featured in the New York Times.)
*Facilitated by Paige Bellenbaum, LCSW (Founding Director and Chief External Relations Officer at the Motherhood Center)
