Just like the Tailor in John Wick 2 when he goes shopping, can't get much better than that. This is a good addition to have along with a B.O..B. or survival back pack. In the Going Home Series by A. American the hero had a huge pack, being 6'6" himself, he should have had this as a back up too.

This is a great pack. I received mine about 2-3 months ago and it has really done the job for me. I am in Florida and being 76 and love to day hike I have to make sure I have plenty of water with me, with the 2 pouches on the side I can carry all I need and have a very balanced load. The over the shoulder bags were giving me back problems with Fox Trot I have a very pain free hike. Plus with all of the other storage I can carry my 5c’s very comfortably.

Great review. The lack of a shoulder harness is the downfall of most waist packs. This one looks great. I like the fact that you can add your own small pouches to the molle to expand capacity. Also, for folks wondering about the benefit of these types of packs they do not retain heat next to your back o hot days like a backpack does.

Yeah by the way, I got me one of those Mk2’s. I use it as my level one day kit. Meaning I expect to be out of the woods by nightfall. But I have enough to stay the night on emergency. So in the pack I have an emergency blanket, the reflective kind. Also I have a 5x7 piece of tyvek that I have installed grommets. It could be used as a ground cloth. Also a 55 gallon drum liner to make a litter bed. Which I learned from you Corporal. Semper Fi.

Love your simplicity for essentials. I recently got the MountainSmith Tour Lumbar Pack. I have a hard time with our day hikes to carry smaller shoulder packs so I am hopeful the lumbar style will be my fit! The MSTLP looks to be similar in size and quality as this one in your video. Only thing I would say is that it could use molly webbing on the empty side of this hip belt. I enjoy your videos! Thanks for sharing!
@davem41935 жыл бұрын
I ran into the same issue as you, I have back and shoulder issues so regular backpack style hydration packs bother me on long day hikes. I went with a Wingnutgear lumbar hydration pack a couple years ago and it has been awesome. I've done 20 mile day hikes with it with no issues. If it wears out I will buy another one just like it.
@janetstarr95545 жыл бұрын
@@davem4193 Cool! I'll have to look that one up! I'm good with the double bottle holders as hydration packs are not my go to anyways. I tried several small packs and finally realized the issue. As we hiked Yosemite NP this summer and there I was carrying my full size pack all synched in for day hikes. LOL.
@davem41935 жыл бұрын
@@janetstarr9554 yep I used to do that too! I think they make small lumbar packs too with just the bottle holders. What I like is they are very lightweight. Mine weighs less than a pound empty and it's a full 3 liter hydration pack.

Great episode, handy pack. I like it for day-fishing while exploring around water-banks. Plenty of room for tackle, lunch, tools, drinks; plus it won't get into your shoulders' or waist's range of motion for casting and playing fish. Looks like you can even sit with it on. Lower hip-level center of gravity is nice, too, since fishing already spends upper body energy. Sweet kit; I'll seriously consider that next time around. Thanks for all you do to find the most practical gears and techniques for us to add to our options!

Punisher, it's a go! Keep up this good work, sir. This belt rig reminds me of times gone by when I would tote an SLR, though suspended only by shoulder strap. Otherwise my main bag has always been a surplus large NATO rucksack, but it's been taken out of service for having a 3-thread shoulder strap. Once I'm done with this cancer caretaking gig at home I'll hit the trail to recharge my batteries and will certainly be putting some of your tips to use, even if I am camping out of a small truck. Looks like a good minimal overnight bag. Concern is with the two bottle pouches though. A lot of bottle is sitting high with minimum load security. 1. Stainless water bottles very reflective in sunlight. 2. Not much securing full bottle in place when running, climbing etc. A cord and Velcro system such as Maxpedition Jumbo would be ideal. But hey, what the heck, part of the fun is personal modification. Besides I'm enthralled with this channel and your content Corp. Keep em coming.

I found a kit that was better than our deuce gear, but inspired by it... the SADF pattern 70 kit. The bad part, is that it's canvas... and soaks up water! That's about the only bad! You can carry 21 mags of 7.62x51! 400+ rounds gets heavy, but... as you know, that weight is reassuring, knowing you have it!

Mine came in the mail yesterday, and man is it one awesome piece of kit! I've got the 10 C's from my Condor H harness plus some, and it's smaller and way lighter. The construction is flawless, this thing will last a long time. I've already had it out on a few mile hike and it performed great. Helikon-Tex seems to have some really bomb proof gear and for a reasonable price. I definitely want to get an insert for the Foxtrot and the E&E pouch to replace the Condor pouch I have on its PALS webbing now. If I didn't already have the Snugpak Inhanced Patrol and Liner, I would pick up a Swagman Roll too. Helikon-Tex is a company to keep an eye on! I will be doing a head to head video of the Foxtrot vs the Condor H harness vs my old school 782 rig if anyone is interested once I put the Foxtrot throne it's paces some.

Nice pack I use the monster badlands style fanny pack wit harness for hunting day trips. I have a bad back and I find that style of pack keeps the weight low and acts like a back brace when you tighten it up. The issue I have is I have wide shoulders and the shoulder strap system on the badlands is a inverted v around the neck. As a result it’s flips up on its edge cutting in. This pack has a H style system. I might pick this up. The search for the perfect pack never ends.
