Great review. I want to say that most modern games of today don't step foot into this type of story telling anymore. The only other game with this tragic of a story is probably nier automata. This type of game can only be appreciated by a niche group of people, and with the costs rising to make a modern game, it probably isn't in a company's best financial interest to produce games such as fragile dreams, which is sad cause there is alot of heart (storywise) that went into this game. I believe one of the creators of this game was a psychologist, which explains the lore, stories, and overall crushing feeling of loneliness throughout the game.

I agree about the things you said in the introduction. The horrendous open world designs of ubisoft and games like cyberpunk2077 with as you call them micro tasks and useless garbage loot and generic everything are a plague on the modern video game industry. Whats even worse are new generations of players that grew up on such games and their acquired tastes for such garbage.
