The entire Germany (except Austria) was fighting here so it's more accurate to call it Franco-German war

@@Crimsrn And because of the war, the fighting Germans united under the leadership of Prussia/the North German Confederation into the German Empire. I dont think theres a problem calling it the franco-german war and, although it generally is called the franco-prussian war by most English historians, the Germans call it the Franco-German war as well

Prussia was only a kingdom within the North German Confederation, though it could be argued Prussia was in charge of that nation. Furthermore, other German states including Bavaria and Hesse were involved in the war, the former being an active belligerent in several battles during the war Furthermore, it is known as the “Franco-German war” in both France and Germany

@@s-ts-4348 true, however by that time they were isolated and the German Confederation was disbanded, replaced with the north German Confederation (which was the main belligerent alongside France)
