You ever stop to think that’s kind of the point. These are organizations that have been around for over many many years with the sole point of pruning people for excellence. I thought for sure this story was going to be about Duncan at K-State. Story says that a mistake during a paddling hazing resulted in Duncan hit in the head and he died. Now he haunts the frat and the band room. Idk if it's true but everyone interested in ghost stuff in Kansas has heard of Duncan before.

fantastic narration!! :) I remember one of my cousins quit his fraternity after being hazed, because it was awful, and he was wondering to himself "why am I doing this for people who aren't even my friends?" and I'm glad he realized that. anyways though, you don't need to be particularly "privileged" to join a greek life organization (at least, not *always*), as many comments seem to claim. you mostly have to be willing to go through with their sick games, and otherwise just help out in normal ways really. they exist even at schools with little funding and many impoverished students...I would know. it's mostly at really big and/or expensive schools where you'll find houses with only white students and stuff.

You have to pay dues to be a member. Lots of people struggle to pay tuition, let alone pay a group of people to be their friends.
@SantaFishes1013 жыл бұрын
@@00jyjsarang not true necessarily. perhaps in some, but not all require dues to be paid. also, many students at state schools in particular barely pay anything. especially if you're native. it's more complicated than you think.

I went to PSU, unfortunately this is super common for hazing and there are actually WORSE hazing events that some frats make you do (as in more embarrassing or involving hardcore drugs). Calling an ambulance or police is "frowned upon" in some frats but others like the ones I frequented usually did call an ambulance. In fact, my frat and I called an ambulance for a girl who drank to much...but other frats would actually undress unconscious females and take pictures of them nude to pass around the frat

“Most would agree that even the deepest sleeper would awake you the sound of an oncoming train ...” Not necessarily. If you’re on the tracks, it’s been shown that you may not hear it until it’s too late because most of the sound radiates out from the dude of the train. The engine blocks the forward projecting sound.

@@namelessdoes I've heard of those that select their university based on how popular or crazy their fraternities/sororities are known to be. They taught us in high school, & I'm 55, so a college student should know better. & So should the other members of the frat!
@monroerobbins75513 жыл бұрын
It ain’t like Saw, people; you don’t really gain as much of a strong bond from group trauma. Forcing it to happen, guess what that’s gonna make the haze-ee feel? Resentment, anger, maybe even trauma depending on how bad it is. I get wanting a club of friends, but sororities and frats, I just don’t feel that’s it. It just feels like a privileged thing, to feel like you’re in a “us vs them” scenario, when you’re all just in school and trying to figure out your life. It just feels kinda unnecessary.
