In 8th grade, I would lay in my bed for what seemed like hours just staring at the ceiling with a 'Fray album on repeat, trying to grieve the crushing heartbreak of a loss to suicide and failing so, so miserably. It took almost 7 years for the heartsickness and bitter anger to fade, and now, over a decade later, I'm shocked at how long ago this all was. Time doesn't always heal all wounds, but the pain does eventually lessen, if incrementally, and scars will replace that once fresh wound. The scars may remind us of that loss, but instead of anguish, they now bring back all those fond memories, lost and long forgotten, of a time before death's first sting. You can only accept your pain before you can accept your happiness, to pursue either is to pursue nothing (2020)

She did make me happy, I would smile whenever I did see her, she was special to me, she was really close to my heart which I refer to as my “home”. There’s no other woman I know like her. She was my “happiness”. But I lost my “happiness” due to my terrible actions, she left my “home”. I ruined it and it was all my fault and it hurts that as much I would want her to come back“home”, I’m the last person she would want to talk to again… I’m really sorry for everything Aja. I’m sorry that my awful actions burdened you to feel disappointed and disrespected by me. I’m sorry that I hurt you and decimated our friendship. And I realize that my sorries aren’t enough. I pray for forgiveness by you but you feel I don’t deserve it. But I pray you continue healing, living better than before and find your “happiness”.
