A couple of years ago I went to Derry for a European Education Project. I stayed for four weeks there. I catched a old record from the 60s in a second hand store in Derry. Here's a little picture show with impressions of Derry and Dublin.

Hagarviking same here, my mum used to spin this record, I grew up to these songs. Plus I lived in an infamous wee orange Scottish town so being a young Catholic amongst the Huns this record was gold to me.

My only son was shot in Dublin, Fighting... - Stair na hÉireann ...www.facebook.com › StairnahEireann › posts › my-onl...Hi Maria, sorry for the late reply. Boy this has opened a can of worms. I'm unable to find who wrote this song. The above link to the facebook page may be able to help you. The album was produced in 1967 under the "Allegro: label and was a Pickwick International Product. Hope this helps a bit. Perhaps others that view this page may be able to help.

@@pmc1632 Lonnie Donegan (1931-2002) was a Glasgow-born singer, songwriter and musician, referred to as the King of Skiffle, who was a major influence on 1960s British pop. He was the son of an Irish mother from Omagh, Co. Tyrone and a Scots father. He also recorded covers of 'Kevin Barry' and 'Nobody Loves Like An Irishman’.

Not sure how murdering innocent civilians, including children, makes someone a 'freedom fighter'. They rarely seemed to have the guts to actually attack government officials directly, you know, those who could actually change policy. Wonder why that was. Cowardice?
