An all time classic in France, one of my favourites when I was a kid!

I remember seeing a movie on TBS once back in the 80's called Appointment with Venus. It centered around a prize cow in the German occupied Channel Islands. It starred David Niven.

A great movie indeed, thank you Johnny. And I wonder who wouldn't like Belmondo, an amazing actor and legend we lost not so long ago. I heard he was a very nice guy and incredibly funny in real life. You probably already watched it but I'd love to see a review of the movie "Army of Shadows", one of my favorite WW2 movie.

Talking about light hearted WW2, movies, I watched JoJo Rabbit recently. I felt it was like Inglorious B@stards on LSD. Thanks for the retrospective review of this film, I will check it out. 👍

I do enjoy light hearted historical and political comedies or satires. This I must watch.

My grandfather would of liked this movie. I wasn’t aware of it until now. He enjoyed some of these movies that were silly and mocked the Germans. I still think Patton was his favorite. He never really said. That aside though, I can picture him laughing at this.

What interests me are Russian and European films about WW2 with English subtitles. I cannot figure out why movie distributors don't recognize the international market for this on YT or elsewhere. Any thoughts, Johnny?

Günter Meisner who played Hitler in the 1936 scenes was a radio operator with the German paratroopers during the Second World War. He participated in many war films, but also in Willy Wonka, the 1971 version.
