BEFORE ANYONE ASKS OR COMPLAINS: *TURN ON THE SUBTITLES TO SEE THE TRANSLATION* . i said it in the video intro, but since the text goes by quickly you might not catch it. so here’s me telling you to do so! also: i have further commentary in the description box on some ~things~ i noticed abt the french dub (as a non-native french speaker) should anyone be interested :) WHERE TO WATCH: - the french dub is available to watch on crunchy, though it won’t be available with subtitles, obviously. the first episode of the french dub is also on youtube if you want to give it a go! link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ep3WoGCofJaDpck - i have no idea if the french dub is on netflix either (since i can’t watch bsd on netflix in my region) but it might be worth checking out anyway - as for 🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️ free sites, i used french anime dot com. look for “VF”, or “FRENCH”, *not* VOSTFR (that is the subtitles!) - there is no wan! or dead apple french dub though, unfortunately :’) if you know bsd well enough then you might be able to get by, though the jokes may go over your head (and i didn’t catch everything myself since my first language isn’t french. i had to look up a few things!). you should also know this dub is a belgian dub! OTHER DUBS: *i won’t be doing this for the other language dubs* . i do not know enough spanish, and i have zero knowledge of brazilian portuguese and very limited german. i translated and subtitled all of this video by myself, after all. but if anyone else wants to, then by all means, go ahead (and tell me !! i want to see !!!). my elementary level german will not get me very far, malheureusement. anyway, i hope you enjoyed! i would’ve made this longer with more characters but alas… c0pyr!ght has not been kind to me this year so i wanted to minimise as many risks as possible (length being one of them). pls pray that this doesn’t get taken down i’ll cry if it does because of how long this took me ha hA i’m trying my best over here LASTLY: if this video doesn’t get taken down, keep an eye out for a french dub skk compilation sometime because uh. 👁 let’s just say, they made some *interesting* localisation/translation choices! before i wrap this up: thanks so much for 12k subs!! it means a lot :D just in time for S5 in 10 days too (if you’re at anime expo LA when they’re premiering it, know that i am very jealous). thanks for watching and reading if you got this far (i know this comment was really long). i’ll see you in the next one 😁😁

Hey just a heads-up! Subtitles are supposed to reflect what's being said in the video. Which means you should have done the opposite here: french text should have been in the subtitles, and the english translation should have been on screen. It's probably not too much of a problem here since you still have the transcription of what's being said somewhere on screen, but it's good to bear in mind that many people rely heavily on subtitles (be it non-native speakers, deaf people, people with sound-processing issues, etc) and it's important to do this right! (once again not a big deal here but i just want to make sure as many people are made aware of this so the internet can be a little more accessible)

@@juliettev.6309 thanks for telling me! the only reason i used youtube’s subtitle feature was because i wasn’t too confident in my translation skills, and so writing-in corrections would’ve been easier this way (since once i’ve put a video up, there’s only so much i can do to it). youtube subtitles *have* been used for translation in other videos (not mine!) so i thought it’d be okay to do so, it’s fairly common. but thanks for letting me know!

Tbh the translation is pretty good. I just noticed the "mon sang" instead of "bon sang" (dammit/oh crap), but everything else is correct Also, "laissÉ monter". Yeah, French is pretty fucked up. You can be more confident about your skills. Only two mistakes, and one probably is just a typo, you are better than many MANY French people. I can assure you, as a French, French people are as bad at writting French than Americans are at writting English... Many can't make a difference between er, é and ez, despite having some simple ideas to check if they are correct. Using a verb from the 3rd group, like "faire". If "faire" works, then it's -er (infinitif), if you have to conjugate it as "faites", then it's -ez (2nd person of plural). And if it's "fit", then -é (auxiliaire (to be or to have) + participé passé. Like done, given,...). So yeah, don't worry, despite this, most of us are way WAY worse than you. Be confident
