The French VHS of 'Lady and the Tramp' - Imaxination's Video Corner

One of my latest finds, the original 1990 French VHS of 'Lady and the Tramp'. Some collector-centric details on it, and such.
Oh, and forgive my awful French pronunciations.

Yeah, in many countries, the Disney home releases (or even theatrical) weren't handled by Disney themselves, and still isn't. For example, in Hungary, the home/cinema distribution was handled by a company called InterCom until 2013, and nowadays, the home releases are distributed by Pro Video, and the theatrical release is handled by Forum Hungary.

Speaking of, I own a Sylvania portable DVD player (SDVD7046) that actually has a format converter feature; therefore I’m able to watch PAL dvds like the Animals of Farthing Wood complete series

I'm blown away by the Lady and the Tramp vhs and the Abril Portuguese distribution was also available in Brazil. I actually do own a Brazilian Portuguese VHS copy of Snow White which was printed in 1998 or 1999 (since it had the trailer for The Lion King II) and quite the hand full of Mexican releases that were handled by VistaVideo, I gotta admit they love banking The Three Caballeros in some of their bumpers. The Mexican releases I have are: Aladdin Snow White Collection of the Three Little Pigs shorts Bedknobs and Broomsticks Toy Story (Non-Disney) The Swan Princess ((unaltered with all of it's animation errors))

+Kristen Ramirez So the Portuguese-language tapes in question are Brazilian releases? Literally just finding all this out - when I had originally looked it up, I had heard that it was from Portugal. Interesting.

Some Disney videos in the UK were distributed by Rank, while in Australia, much of the early Disney video library (including films from Touchstone) was distributed by Roadshow.

+MrServoRetro That's true, but in 1987, Disney stopped having their VHS tapes bring distributed by Rank in the UK.

Don't forget in 1999, Warner Home Video distributed the DVDs for Disney in the UK but the same happened to the Disney DVDs in the UK in mid-late 2000, that's why early UK DVD versions of these Disney films have the DVD menu after the film is finished.

France has SECAM and PAL formats for VHS tapes. You must buy a multi formats VCR. Take a look on eBay and Amazon

Disney Reviews By Matt because Region 2/PAL tapes play faster than NTSC and they can not be played on a North American VCR.
