I miss my front porch. I have been away from my home for a year and a half taking care of my elderly mom. She had Alzheimer’s and she outlived her money. She passed in March at the age of 96. Blessing that she is whole again and in Heaven. I’m now in the process of getting everything packed up so I can move home. I have a wonderful front porch and a nice back porch maybe in May we both can be on our porches and knitting!! By June it may be to hot to knit outside. My home is in the greater New Orleans area. We have about 5-6 months of summer. I would like to thanks you for your podcasts! Knitting podcast’s were my company while taking care of mom. You were my conversation, laughter, company and inspiration. I got great knitting ideas and learned a lot from all the podcasts I watched. Mom did watch and follow along at first but toward the end she just couldn’t. Without you even knowing it you were a blessing in my life. Thank you!

Oh, my. Even when you expect a family member's death, you are never ready for it. Losing your mum is probably one of the worst things. I still think of my mum every day and she passed 10 years ago. Her sister passed 6 months later. We have a women's retreat called 'The Daughters of Russell and Anna' after our grandparents. It's my mum's daughters and my aunts daughters. We are starting to include the granddaughters. The only rules are you must be female and over 21. We don't want any little kids so we can do what we want. Our mums thought it wouldn't last, but here we are 10 years later and just had a retreat a month ago. You are in my thoughts.

Lovely knits and awesome yarn stash. I also like the Patons Kroy for making the guys their socks. They love them. You had a couple of colours there that I haven't seen before. Need to hunt them down. Lucky you to have a baby book. What fun! My mother never did these, but I have them for my sons and started them for my grandchildren. Hopefully no more flight cancellations for you. Safe travels and enjoy the wedding preparations. Thanks for sharing. Take Care.

Thanks Donna. I love finding new Patons Kroy colours- it is so easy to just grab a couple of balls and go. I wish I was better at baby books than I am- I do have a fairly good photographic record of their childhoods but didn't really right everything down.

Oh how wonderful it was to catch up with you! I spent a lovely morning knitting and listening to this episode. I am an obsessive sock knitter (95% of them are given away to charity and/or anyone I can talk into taking a pair of hand-knit socks) and it is so nice to hear that you and I are very similar in how we think about sock knitting. Can’t wait for the next time we “chat”. I’ll be thinking of you and your travels and knitting. Salam wa sa’aadah

I am shocked, SHOCKED, you couldn't knit while you drove 1,600 kilometers to get home. Enjoyed the podcast.

I soooo enjoyed your latest episode, catching up on all of your knits and all things life. 🧶 🌈. It was so cool to see your baby book! I was born in the late 50s and I was also the firstborn, and so my Mom filled almost everything in and she included my (and her) hospital bracelets, some pictures, foot prints, etc. It might even be the same book as yours because some of the artwork I side looked familiar. But I will have to take it out and see. Thanks for an enjoyable episode! Have a Great Spring! 🌼🌷🌸🌹🌺

Thanks for stopping by. I am an early 60's vintage and my experience is that lots of baby books from that era were similar- the vibe is for sure vintage. I am thankful to have it. See you again soon

Enjoyed your podcast & your great knits If I may a question for you - your Sophie Scarves are lovely. I plan on knitting several with my stash of single balls of fingering & DK. My 'kfb's are very noticeable & yours seem invisible. Any advice?

Hi Pat, Thanks for stopping by. I am not sure what I might be doing differently with my kfb , the only thing I can think of is if you are twisting the stitch? Both of the yarns I used were quite plump and squishy. When I do my next one ( I am sure there will be another one lol) I will try and pay attention.

Thanks for stopping by- I am glad you found it. Listowel is a great little town and a perfect day trip- a little further from Hagersville but not crazy. watch for the tent sale- I usually do a road trip to that with some of the gals from my knit night.

Thanks for stopping by. It is kind of fun to see the things that your parents thought were noteworthy worthy at the time. I also love that it has my Mom’s beautiful school teacher penmanship.
