You've made a longterm investment in Decked Out 2, so us viewers have made a longterm investment in you, Tango! New people will go through your past videos to catch up. You could even put together a Decked Out 2 Construction playlist. Personally, I find what you're doing to be far more fascinating than regular farm videos or other Redstone stuff. This is a practical application of Redstone to create a game within a game. Whether you're working on Decked Out or the Create Series, I love watching you push this game to the limit and create things no one else could.

Even though I'm keeping up with the streams, I'm always so blown away by the absolutely incredible stuff Tango manages to pull off with redstone. And could it be any better presented? I think "Stumble" should be displayed somewhere in the shop as well, the player would like to know what stumble does if they are deciding to buy "Swagger" or not. You can possibly have a line hooked up to the Swagger line so that Stumble would pop up at the same time to Display what the card does.

10:38 that suspense ending with the final boom as the embers appear just made that experience a 100 times more exciting. The audible intensity increasing as you wait for your prize makes it feel so much more eerie...and then the final release after the boom... So satisfying!
@chrizzie1

There's an extra special joy to having a spectator's view of decked out runs; you get that extra suspense of knowing where the dangers are before the player running the dungeon does. I realise it's not practical to do this for all real runs, but it'd be awesome to organise having each Hermit's first run be spectated like this. It'd have to be done by Tango to avoid other Hermits incidentally comming across dungeon secrets while spectating, but if possible it'd be a huge boon to the viewing experience.
@akivajacobs7090
@akivajacobs7090 Жыл бұрын
Hey Tango, I was thinking it might be hard to make secret rooms worth it, and unique, so I'm sharing the idea to put single item frames in a couple, preferably deeper in the dungeon, but they could be scattered, too. The idea is that this is the only way for the player to preserve a single item from one run to the next, if they have a unique ingredient, or perhaps a key to the later levels. It's not completely safe, as the other players are also able to find someone else's hoarded item if they find that 'hidden cubby'. What I'm hoping this results in, is that players find it more reliable to use a frame if it was really hard to find, or way deep in, while the easier frames to find, are almost guaranteed that someone else will steal it.
@thetinytitan887

I suppose that this game mechanic idea is already halfway implemented. There are some rooms where decorative barrels, and chests can be found. A player could drop any/all their items into these containers, but they aren't exactly hidden. Hiding the dead drop locations would make exploration more exciting and increase player interaction though.

This is an interesting idea, the item frame would be a powerful and thus likely expensive item to bring into runs, but it's an interesting risk-reward strategy, you risk another player getting to your item before you return to get it again, and even if you get to it again it doesn't guarantee you the ability to get a good run with it so you're risking losing the item frame as well, which again likely wouldn't be cheap, it'd be an end-game tactic most likely.

Phew. I have to say, I got goosebumbs at the first demonstration of the random selections of the cards with that amazing sound that came whenever a card appeared in the shop. I have to say, it's absolutely amazing and I am very much looking forward to the first and repeated reactions of all the hermits playing the game.

The droning sound when the artifact is put into the disposal system, I almost imagine it to be like a saw blade because it kinda sounds like one, it’s like it’s grinding the artifact up into frost embers

Those sound effects in the shop really do make it extra special, love it! The dedication to making this game is phenomenal, and I'm enjoying every second of it. If watching the game be made is this good, people playing it can only be better!

I don't know if it means much but tangos lengthy redstone videos are the only ones I allow myself to watch rn (because with job and university alot is going on and not much free time is left) and I enjoy them greatly! shaming myself that I dropped those videos for a while like half a year ago, it's so fun and fascinating

I mean I still watch short hermitcraft episodes of lots of people you know I still have a few hours to spare but lengthy redstone is not a thing I would prioritize over other activities but for some reason decked out is just so addicting and the videos are so great

Real life takes priority. But one needs enjoyment to balance the more serious side of life. No shame in needing to pick and choose. Tango is an awesome choice because, as he said in the podcast, he always keeps the viewer first in mind.

its great to see the new cards you've designed, I even went through the video frame by frame to try and get a better look at some of the cards in the background. Im sure you've already finalized the design of nearly all the cards but it'd be cool if there was a counter part to stumble that increased hazard instead of clank. you could call it crumble, like the dungeon is crumbling apart.

You could use the server-side resourcepack to add icon for frost embers, coins and other icons to the game as custom characters, so you could use it on the signs at the shop. You could replace some emojis, which are not defined in the game, such as 🪙 for the coins and others for other symbols.

A “ye who are worthy, enter” in tangos grumbly voice with a deep drawn out horn at the end would be epic for the entrance to the frost ember shop. By far my favorite build on hermitcraft this season

What makes that drone that plays while you're waiting to be paid your frost embers even creepier is that last horn that plays as it spits out the embers sounds so much like a Tripod horn from War of the Worlds. Those sounds along with the sounds of the Gargantuan Leviathan from the Return Of The Ancients mod for the game Subnautica are the only sounds that genuinely freak me out a little, and I love it! Might I also suggest or at least bring to light the idea of adding random ambient sounds throughout the dungeon, depending on the area or level of the dungeon? Maybe for the first level, sounds of ice cracking or shifting randomly, or just having random ambient sounds like faraway screeches or wails from other possible creatures (or just a sound to get the players mind going about what possibly could have made that sound). Kind of like the ambient sounds of The Maze changing and the grievers in the movie The Maze Runner. Or just something like the random sounds that play while you're in caves in Minecraft that startle you a little and put you a little bit more on edge. I think that along with the other sounds will really tie everything together and make for a really interesting and immersive environment.

The card shop sounds are amazing! I don't know if it would work, but I wonder if you could make the cards pop up a bit faster and more consistently - if you start randomizing the cards when you process the artifact, you could save a bit of processing time.

You should have a TCG arena for a hang out area where people waiting to do a run can spectate a match and add special features to bring the two together.
@yiannchrst
@yiannchrst Жыл бұрын
From what he's said in streams I don't think he will... Because building an arena is lot of effort which won't go towards finishing decked out, and I also think he's said he wants the two games to be separated. But you never know...

What if there were tiny cracks in the walls every once in awhile where you could hide from ravagers? Jurassic Park hiding from dinosaur holding your breath style. You could even put a skulk sensor there that determines if the player will be allowed to escape out a different end. Like, they run into the crack and have to hold still and make absolutely no noise and then after 20 seconds an escape route opens up. It might work better with the warden level eventually, but it could be implemented in earlier levels as well! Of course they wouldn’t be able to escape vexes so it would be an early game save
