Truth is they don't need to show how rich they are, in India Ambani is literally used as a synonym for wealth just like how we use Einstine as a synonym for intelligence.Normal Indian family use 10-30% of their wealth in wedding, the Ambans only used 0.3%, what more this lavish wedding gave job and money to millions directly and indirectly.They litterely shouted out best food stalles in India be it a poor street food shope in a corner of India or biggest resturent and flew then to their wedding. But , in general, the husband will cheat on his wife several times and the wife will stay quiet in the beginning. But women now have rebelled against unfaithful husbands and demand divorces right away. My priest said once in a sermon: " it is ok to have money, but the love of money is a bad thing ". Yes, 10,000 persons worked for the success of the wedding. But I am concerned for the 1,499,990,000 that watched this expensive wedding. @@stevepatterson9243 well like in most conservative society marriage is still intact in India and cheating and divorce is not that rampant but it is increasing and sadly we will reach the level of western countries soon.About the wedding I think most Indians are just glad they are spending this money in the country and local economy instead of hording their wealth, buying mega yatch in some europian or worst directly use it for nefarious reasons much better than vast majority of billionaire in the world.I mean bill gates has 500mil+ doller yatch no one cares still poor American suffer this is much better spending than that.Also the spending not only help directly like workers they hired for wedding even the clothes they use in wedding boosted Indians textile industry, flowers they used Indians flower industry etc and most of these industries are directly run by small stores and business by poorest of our country so any boost in it will help the poor directly.
