Thank you Berel for the exciting and inspiring presentation about Hanukkah and how it pertains to our present situation. I have my own personal Hanukkah story that has yet to be resolved. I am a Korean-Canadian convert to Judaism (thanks to Rabbi Tovia Singer) to be formalized soon, when the war in Israel is over. On Decemeber 2, 2023, I was singing Hatikva (the National anthem of Israel), Am Yisrael Chai, and Shema Yisrael in front of Adib's Cut (1542 Johnston Road, White Rock, BC). As I was peacefully singing Hatikva, a customer exited Adib's Cut, stood approximately five centimetres away from me and screamed at the top of his lungs, "f-expletive you, f-expletive Israel, you baby killer!" for about two minutes as I continued to sing. As he was screaming, he spat on me and it landed in my mouth, at which point I immediately walked towards the White Rock RCMP Detachment to make a report of the assault. In 2017, after a visit to Temple Mount, Yerushalayim, I returned home to Canada and I entered Adib's Cut with a kippah that has a large Star of David on it under a hat. I asked for a haircut, removed my hat to reveal the kippah/Star of David, and was told to "go to the bus stop" and was refused service. The next day I protested outside Adib's Cut and was assaulted by an employee to which I responded by damaging their front door. The RCMP arrived and arrested me. I gave a statement to the arresting officer about the religious discrimination and assault that led to the door being damaged but no action was taken against Adib's Cut at the time or ever since. I have been singing Hatikva, Am Yisrael Chai, and Shema Israel on the sidewalk outside Adib's Cut in protest for a month and have been accused of criminal mischief to the RCMP by Adib's Cut for doing so. On December 4, 2023, I was recommended by RCMP Constable Chantal Sears to contact the local media and suspend my protests indefinitely due to these accusations. I have been recommended to stop singing Hatikva on the sidewalk because in her view, nothing good would come out of it. The main reason why I am alerting Jewish people and organizations about this is to make them aware of the fact that the RCMP has not taken this case seriously thus far, and in spite of my emails to White Rock City Council and Mayor, BC Premier David Eby, MLA Trevor Halford, MP Kerry-Lynne Findlay, BC Hate Crimes Unit of the RCMP, BC Human Rights Tribunal, local, national, and international media, the ONLY response was from the CAO of the City of White Rock who said the case was beyond his jurisdiction and recommended me to continue correspondence with the BC Hate Crimes Unit of the RCMP, and the BC Human Rights Tribunal, BOTH of which have not responded at all since making contact on November 17, 2023. People who identify as followers of Judaism and are subjected to unresponsiveness from the authorities when a crime has been commited against them is a sign that we are indeed living in a nation that DOES NOT protect the interests of those who love and follow HaShem, the G-d of Israel. When I went to the RCMP White Rock detachment to make a statement about the crime of assault commited on Dec. 2, 2023, Constable Chantal Sears notified me of the fact that I was the prime suspect in a case of criminal mischief. I was treated like a criminal. I was interrogated about my faith in Judaism and was asked questions about Israel and "Palestine", that had NOTHING to do with my case. I was told that anything I would say could be used against me regarding the case of criminal mischief claimed by Adib's Cut. I was told twice during the interview that I could leave at any moment as I was prepared to give my statement regarding the assault against me. Adib's Cut is playing victim when they are the aggressors who first refused service because of the kippah/Star of David, the subsequent assault, and assault on Dec. 2, 2023, which was because the customer was told by employees lies about me and the reason why I was singing Hatikva outside their business. Bottom line is: the RCMP, City Council and Mayor, MLA, MP, are all completely ineffective in cases that require justice for those who stand by their faith in Judaism. People who trust in these authorities to protect them when it really matters are deluding themselves. After I make my conversion formalized and complete I intend to make aliyah and reside in Yerushalayim as soon as possible to get out of Canadastan. Respectfully, Shmuel 2 17-25 is a more fitting story in the context of the current war. King Davids army is a better comparison to Israels army today, than the Maccabean fighters. King Davids army faced the weaker philistine army which also populated the gaza strip, just as the Hamas does, which also isn't a challenge to Israel, as the philistines were after their wars with King Saul significantly weakened them. Israel is most certainly not in an underdog position as the Maccabeans were, which had to resort to ambush tactics to win. Israel will just as King David did, crush the philistean/palestinian stronghold with ease.

I love the Jewish people so much and love lsrael... I was there from August to Sept this year. It's clear God loves the Jewish people so much more than l could ever as they are His chosen people. He has done so many miracles for them. I just wish they/you could realise that Yeshua came 2000 years ago...you don't have to wait. He came, died and rose again for you and for us. I’m a Ukrainian New Yorker currently fly in New York but I was in Kyiv a year ago. We had the world’s largest menorah lit up on our main square in Kyiv last year .. we identify with Jews and love their culture .last night the beautiful Jewish kids gave me a menorah and candles on Fifth ave and 23rd st and Ive lit it up on the window and I feel a proud Jew . It’s been a very difficult 7 weeks since October 7 for all of us Ukrainians …

YOU, ISRAEL 🇮🇱, as a majority, have gone out of your way to show kindness to the Palestinian people at your own detriment. I know that God sees this, it is not going unnoticed. Many people are praying for you. We know that there’s a small remnant in the Palestinian people who are not against you, but the majority are not doing the right thing and you must move forward and do unapologetic what God shows you to do. Many people ALL OVER THE WORLD are praying for THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM. There is definitely a remnant in every nation lifting you up and praying for the peace of Jerusalem.
