At the start of MW2, you play as Joseph Allen who is a member of the United States Army Rangers alongside Sergeant Foley and Corporal Dunn and since he did so well in combat, General Shepherd has him transferred to Task Force 141 and does that CIA operation alongside Makarov's team during No Russian, he gets killed, war starts, etc.

One thing though................THE LOGO ON ALEX'S LEFT ARM ISN'T THE 141 LOGO! i've paused the game on Alex and had a still of the 141 logo on my phone. The 141 has an Ace of Spades behind it, and a wreath round the bottom, Alex's doesn't. It looks like a triangle behind behind an admittedly similar skull and sword wing logo. I only mention it as it seems to be a sticking point to when and who formed 141 is all. 100% not the same.

Why I said that he didn't side and Makarov just found out it's because at the end he said "The Americans thought he could deceive us" that means that wasn't part of the plan... The reason also that Shepherd killed off Roach and Ghost is because the DSM contains the evidence that He Got something to do with the massacre and the only problem is Soap and Price are still alive and Both of them knew Since shepherd is considered a "war hero" He marked Price and Soap and the whole Task force as terrorists

fun fact: task force 141 is inspired by a real world unit from the GWOT, called task force 145, among other names (like task force black). It was a unit comprised of US Delta force, Devgru (Seal team 6), Rangers, CIA Special activities division, and British SAS and SBS operators. They worked in conjunction to hunt down high value targets in the middle east with very little oversight. It's as close to living in a Call Of Duty Modern Warfare game as is possible lol.

You are mistaken about ACS module. It is from a downed US sattelite. Not for finding Makarov. In the mission 'Cliffhanger' Roach and Soap try to take it back before Russians find info about America's airspace defence. However, it appears that 141 was too late and Russians already got their hands on the defence networks info (which leads to the events of 'Wolverines!' and invasion of the USA)
