Another fun fact. The Shugun Ultrazord was created and filmed using the toys. The American toys used a PINK shogunzord instead of a white one and you can actually see if you look closely the white arm is pink in the show when they use that combination. Titanis also includes parts of the Dragon Zord (notably the chest piece on the front) even though the Dragon Zord wasn't used. I know this might come off to some people as nitpicky and all that but these details ALWAYS fascinate me as I rewatch the series as an adult and realize how glorious the extention of disbelief used to be when I was young.

It does make soem sense. A Ninja Falcon Ultrazord wouldn'd make sense as the Falcon Zord combp just allows the Megazord to fly, it's finisher being to fly into the sky and come shooting straight down at the monster while charging up it's fists to plow through the monster, where as the Shogun combo has the Falcon Zord's wings fold foarward and the arms reattach over the wings, becoming cannons, I like to think that the Dino Megazord and SHogun Falcon Megazord when resting in Titanus, get a huge powerboost to their finisher, as well as Titanus's own canons firing. But hoestly it's realy cool and creative how they did this for the SHogun Ultrazord, though it would have been better if they just used the Japanese toy for makign the footage, just going to have to ignore the Pnk Shogunzord every time we watch it.

@@TheZamaron yeah but ive always wondered what happened to Tor the Shuttle Zord after Rito destroys the rest of the Thunderzords plus im still waiting for Legacy Shogun Megazord to be released i have every other Legacy Zord and they should release it as a tribute to JDF i even ordered two of the Thunder Megazord and gave the spare Red Dragon Thunderzord to a friend of mine for his birthday so i could have both Megazord configurations

For me, my favorite will always be the first and the original Megazord. Just with how we had these alternate transformations with the final one actually having each of the seven zords contributing something special. Titanus's front legs became additional armor pieces for the Dragon Megazord, the Dragon's tail and Chest piece combined with Titanus. The later Ultrazords I'm afraid just felt lazy in design and combining. Especially the Thunder Ultrazord with how they just stacked the zords on top of each other.

In Kakuranger, what MMPR called the Shogun Zords are autononomus 'Gods', or just separate sentient beings. The Kakurangers never actually piloted them in the show, as far as I can recall. So, there is literally zero Sentai footage of the Kakurangers inside the 'cockpits' of the Gods. Also, these Zords were the first to appear in the Sentai, implying that the animals were actually more powerful than these. The Falconzord showed up second, before the animal zords, and was said to be the most powerful, which is probably why MMPR wrote it to have Zedd Steal the Falconzord, because there wasn't much footage of it merging with the Shogun zords.

My favorite is the Thunder Megazord by far. It is an asthetically pleasing and inspired design.

Looking back on both the shogun & ninja zords, they had a missed opportunity by Saban when he incorporated the 3rd season of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers with the Super Sentai footage of Ninja sentai Kakuranger. If Saban would have played it smartly he probably could have had the Shogun zords as the first ninja zords, then followed by the real ninja swords which was used towards the climax of The Sentai season. Another little fun fact that you skiped. In the original Sentai footage Ninjor was the student to both the Shogun Zord the Falcons Zord and the ninja zord which were sentient in the show. As for my personal favorite Megazord it is both the Original Dino Megazord and the Dragonzord Battlemode.

Of course I'm going to say that the original Dino Zords are my favorite but the Ninja Zords were amazing as well. The fact that it's finishing move was to straight up SLUG the monster was just AWSOME, LOL.

I found it surprising when you said that there was never any Alien Rangers footage inside of the Shogun Zords since they were adapted from the Mecha used by Kakuranger, of which Alien Rangers are adapted from. But then I remembered that they started going all out on the production during that time and designed cockpits for the Shogun Zords to make their own footage. And now it seems a bit ironic saying they went all on the production if they never filmed any footage of the Alien Rangers in the cockpits. ( ಠ⁠◡⁠ಠ)

Cockpit scenes in the Shogun/ninja zords was filmed in USA. So they could essaly use those cockpits with tge alien rangers.

@@roderickham505 My guess is Saban decided not to spend money filming the Kakuranger costumes in the MMPR Shogun Megazord cockpit since they were already known for making the show on the cheap.

Here's my headcanon to explain the similarities between the Ninja, Shogun zords, and Battle Borgs. SO I like to think that either the current team, or a past version of the Aquatar Rangers had come to Earth, there they made contact with Ninjor who created Ninja themed powers for them as well as these 3 zord sets. However Aquatar Rangers only took the Battle Borgs with them back home, leaving the Ninja and SHogun Zords behind, the SHogun Zords were somehow left on the planet where Zedd fouund them years later, while th Ninja Zords remained in Ninjor's possession. The Dairanger powers were meant to be a back up, but Tommy had lost his powers only, so Zordon finished the White Ranger powers and Tommy made use of them, but since the THunder Zords were destroyed and I assume it would take too long to rebuild them, and the Rangers lost their normal powers, they went to Ninjor, who rather then give them new powers, simply created new Power Coins to be the new source for the Ranger's old powers to reignite from, thus they could now command the Ninja Zords, and I guess some destiny bullshit occured to conventiently end up with Zedd finding the SHogun Zords and the Rangers getting possesion of them, and as the Rangers new powers were from the same method or source as the Aquatar Rangers, the Aquatar Rangers could also command the Shogun and Ninja Zords as they were originally made for their power set.

Truth is in the original mighty Morphin Power Rangers, when I saw the ninja and shogun megazords I wanted them so bad for Christmas. Still have them to this day, and they are still my absolute favorites.

I always get a kick that the Rangers start out with their Ninja Zords and then acquire the Shogun Zords. While it's the exact opposite in Kakuranger. They start out with the Giant Beast Generals(Shogun Zords) as their main Giant Robo while the Super Ninja Beast(Ninja Zords) are acquired half way through the series.

Hey there Sixth Ranger just wanted to say congratulations to you and thank you for this new zord video dealing with the Shogun zords. I found this video to be very interesting only because I watched some of the Japanese Sentai series that was related to our Power Rangers series and learned that the Shogun Megazord was actually a sentient being that came to help the heroes of the series and maybe that is why there was no Alien Ranger footage. Anyways thanks again for this wonderful and very interesting video. Also congratulations to you once again for getting your reward from KZbin. Hope that your New Year is off to a great start. Man I got this Zord as a Christmas present back in like 1995/1996 or thereabouts and to this day it's probably my favourite present of all time. I played the shit out of it and I am happy to say I still have it (I'm 31) and while individually there are missing limbs and bits...they can still form the full Shogun Zord 😁

My favourite was always Dragonzord in fighting mode or Mega Dragonzord as I always used to call it. Awesome new combination. Pity we only saw it have about four battles before being seemingly forgotten and the Rangers finishing off monsters with the Dino Ultrazord form.

So, I have ALWAYS had a love for the Shogun Megazord. So much so that when the re-release of the SMP Model Kits preorders went up, I placed my money down IMMEDIATELY. In just a few weeks I will have all 3 megazords from season 3/Kakuranger. DaiRenOh has also been announced to get a model kit as well which means that once we get the Tigerzord and Tor the Shuttle Zord all of the mecha from the original 3 seasons will be in model kit form.

Fun fact: PLEX designed the Shogun Megazord. Its design is based on classic Japanese fortresses as well as ancient shoguns, while its helmet is that of a "paper crane" design, similar to its predecessor

I grew up with MMPR from the beginning (back in 1993). To this day, my favorite main team zord is the Ninja Mega Zord, with the OG megazord being a very close second. My favorite 6th ranger zord is Dragonzord, with the white tigerzord and falconzord both tying for second. Ahh, the nostalgia!

My Personal Favourite is the Thunder Megazord not only because the Destruction of the Thunder Megazord was Really Devastating to me as a Kid Equivalent to the Death of Optimus Prime in the Transformer The Animated Movie from back in the day for Transformer Fans when they where Kids themselves. But also I really like the Sward and where it’s stored and along with it The Thunder Megazord’s Finisher. And I think the last reason why I line the Thunder Megazord is the fact that if all of the other Thunder Zords decide to Combine with the White Tiger Zord the Red Ranger would still have an Effective way of Fighting Back by Keeping his Zord in Battle Mode. And kind of Tag Team with the White Tiger Megazord I think it was called. And I guess the Bonus reason would be the Thunder Zords was the Last Zords that Jason, Trini, and Zack the Original American MMPR Red, Yellow, and Black Rangers Respectively Piloted before leaving to go on that ‘Peace Conference’ but in reality they decided to leave the show because of a Contract Dispute.

My favorites Megazord combinations were 1. Megazord/Dragonzord 2. Shogun Megazord/Falconzord 3. Mega Thunderzord/White Tigerzord 4. Ninja Megazord But my favorite individual Zord out of all MMPR was the White Tiger Zord!

Interesting that you say it's a swift and agile Megazord, considering that in the Fighting Edition game on the SNES, the Shogun Megazord's the big, bulky, slow character. As for favorite zords, gotta go with the classics. Dino Megazord will always be my favorite.

I think they used the Shogun and Ninja Zords to construct the Zeo zords. I mean building them from scratch would take a long time and they used the Zords not long after getting the Zeo powers. I remember them saying in the first episodes of Zeo that Ninjor and the Zords were back in the temple after time was restored to the present but that made no sense since the Alien rangers were able to call up the Shogun and Falconzord while time was reversed.

In regards to the there being no footage of the alien rangers piloting the zords from the inset, the reason for that is that in sentai, they merged with the zords themselves. That’s a concept that wasn’t brought over for the US version.

The white zord is actually pink in the toy version. I guess to make sure every ranger had their own zord. The Titanis ultra zord it's pink because the toys were used. You can even see the power rangers logo sticker at the top of the arms 😂

I honest hope this will be seen, as it's pretty nice. But for the Ninja and Shogun Ultrazords, pieces of the Dragon Zord are attached to Titanus. Even as last in MMPR as season 3, the Dragon Zord is still lending it's power to the Rangers. Definitely the GOAT.

I like the Shogun zords as well. My favorite zords, The Super Zeo zords remind me of the Shogun zords! When it comes to MMPR I like the Thunder zords the most followed by the Shogun zords, then the Ninja zords.

Don't get me wrong, I also love the Thunder Megazord, the Ninja Megazord and the Shogunzord, but not as much as the original DM. I always felt like the Zeo Zords were a downgrade from the Shogun Zords. We saw with Red Dragon and White Tiger Thunder Zords how useful it was to have Zords with a “warrior mode” in combat. The Shogun Zords were like having 5 of them. It was pretty exciting when the second set of Zeo Zords “Super Zeo” were rolled out and we got a return to this type of aesthetic.

Remember that the Zeo Zords were the first fleet that Billy designed, within the narrative of the show. So that's a good explanation for how they seemed more basic and blocky and almost akin to the original Megazord, compared to the classic lines of the Thunderzords, the sleekness of the Ninjazords and the anxient regality of the Shogunzords.

Shogun megazord is my 2nd favorite, 1st been Dragon zord in battle/ fighting mode. Suprized you did not mention how the blue shogan zord was only shogan zord to defeat a monster solo.

The Thunder Megazord and Shogun Megazords are to this day my favourite MMPR Megazords. The finishing sword slashes of both were just truly awesome and memorable, and since I grew up with the Thunder Megazord, its finisher is even more memorable. While I do like the original Dino Megazord (and the Dragonzord's combinations with it), I never really grew up with that Megazord, so I missed out on a lot of episodes when I was a kid. As for the Ninjazords and Ninja Megazord, I was never really a big fan of them. They just looked so... well, they didn't look as cool as the other 3 Megazords/Zords. But I do have a better appreciation of the Frog Zord, what with it being connected to ninja history and mythology.

thunderzord definitely my fave. coolest summon and transformation sequence ever! only one i believe to have used the turtle ultrazord instead. I kinda dig the fact they reused Titanus for the ninja and shogun zords, even with their own production combining sequence. a little bit less cool than og Megazord's / og Japanese but it works 😂

Shogun megazord is my favorite. Think the reason why the alien rangers didn't use the cockpits. Probably cause originally the Sentai counterpart. Kakuranger footage just had the Sentai team. Just control the zords inside the chest. Saban probably didn't want create cockpits for the alien rangers. Cause they wanted have the alien rangers. Control the battle Borgs telepathically. But the Kakurangers did have cockpits alongside a scroll. To control the ninjazords.
