I'm honestly confused as to why hero and paladin aren't considered master classes as well. They would have been great sword based physical classes. Mortal savant is basically a dread fighter but the magic requirement sucks. Hero would have been a great counterpart master class instead. And if falcon knight is master then I'm not sure why paladin isn't the same tier as well.
@cannolibros5 жыл бұрын
Leigh Needleman I agree. Hero feels under appreciated in this game. Hero could’ve had a master class like “Great Hero” that uses axes, swords, and lances.

And there should have been a troubadour middle class, so the jump from warlock/bishop to holly/dark knight isnt that big.
@l.n.33725 жыл бұрын
@@lucascayol1578 Holy knight really seems to be trying to replicate the troubadour from FE4. Except that it uses Lance vs swords. There definitely should be a middle ground stage with a lower riding requirement for dark knight and holy knight. The constant reliance upon Lance and riding in Three Houses is kinda ridiculous.
@tsuki59855 жыл бұрын
Leigh Needleman just because the classes aren’t master class doesn’t mean they’re bad, I have several paladins, Swords masters, priests, and warlocks among my army and only about 1-3 master classes. The master classes aren’t really a straight upgrade from any advanced class, but rather another option
@l.n.33725 жыл бұрын
@@tsuki5985 I realized the master classes were probably side grades instead of straight upgrades when I looked at their skills. Getting stuff like the faire skills as early as advanced classes means that you could easily just end your promotion there and still benefit from great skill levels. That doesn't change the fact that master classes are horribly imbalanced towards gender locked classes, magic class options with limited physical options for swords, as well as hard to achieve skill levels for riding etc. It's very imbalanced even if you don't need the master class.
@shadeknight65375 жыл бұрын
This is just my opinion, but I think Master Classes suck to be honest. Most of them I find have awful synergy with lower tier classes. Great Knight, for instance, is pretty much designed to be used by Armor mains than Cavalier mains, since Cavalier and Paladins require hefty specialization in spears, while Great Knight's focus is on axes instead, forcing you to spread skill points across four separate skills for a class that, personally, doesn't offer the same utility as a Paladin. You'd think Holy and Dark Knights would be the logical final step, but those are magic classes first, and riders second. Going from Paladin to Holy/Dark Knight means sacrificing your huge damage output with Lancefaire for a boost in either black or white magic, both of which are likely to be subpar than if it came from a magic specialist like Hubert or Marianne. Some characters also can't take advantage of certain classes that would otherwise be fantastic for them because they're gender locked. Linhardt can't be a Gremory, so his superb arsenal of black and white magic can't be utilized to their full potential at the same time. Speaking of Gremory, while it sounds solid on paper for a pure magic-build, but you have to give up Bishop's ridiculous healing power and Terrain Resistance, and Warlock's Black Tomefaire, for extra magic charges, of which you probably already have more than enough to last you any battle even without the boost by the time you hit level 10. The only real benefit of the class I found is the extra point in movement, which you can already mitigate with a March Ring. Hilda can't be a War Master, so she pretty much gotta stick to either Warrior, or go Great Knight or Draco Master to keep Axefaire. Mortal Savant is good only for Felix and Dorothea, and even so, you can make a solid argument why Swordmaster and Warlock are better picks for them respectively. And there's no Master Class that really takes advantage of Assassin's skills. About the only master classes that have any kind of good synergy with previous classes are Falcon Knight, Draco Master, War Master, and Bow Knight. And even then, Falcon Knight pretty much requires sticking to Pegasus Knight, an Intermediate class, for an extra 10 levels, therefore not being able to take advantage of Advanced class stat growths, lest they also spend tons of points in Axes just to satisfy the Draco Knight criteria. I love most everything in Three Houses, but Master Classes are definitely one of the few things I genuinely think are bad. The fact that you're not allowed to see what Master classes are and their requirements until you hit Prof. Rank C, when you're already pretty deep into training your students into their specific roles, is just a dumb decision that offers no benefits and only serves to blindside newbies.
@LinkKing75 жыл бұрын
Actually just finished a script analyzing all the Master Classes and why they are good or bad. Should be out in a few days, but I agree with you on some of those points. Master classes definitely need a rework, and more diversity
@shadeknight65375 жыл бұрын
@@LinkKing7 I think I'm just gonna voice my opinion now, I think Holy Knight is the most poorly designed master class in the game. It's designed as an offensive white mage class, but most characters who have good magic growth and are good at Faith only learn Nosferatu as an offensive spell. And though Tomefaire boosts Nosferatu's power dramatically, it's still inferior to an unboosted Seraphim, and doesn't even come close to the same ballpark as Aura and Abraxas. On top of that, it doesn't give White Magic x2, which is a problem for those who do learn Aura and Abraxas because they have barely any charges, and like in any RPG, the magic users can't swing a spear worth a shit once they invariably run out of charges, and because the class doesn't have Lancefaire to compensate for that, they're left to rely on Nosferatu for damage. This honestly wouldn't so bad since I still got plenty of mileage out of Wind, Fire and Thunder even at endgame, and they're not that much stronger from Nosferatu, but the difference is that those spells weigh basically nothing, while Nosferatu weighs a ton, meaning you're lucky if you ever double anything with it. I get that they're probably more effective as a utility class than a combat class, taking advantage of Canto in conjunction with stuff like Warp and Rescue, but those kinds of builds would benefit far more from White Magic x2 than Tomefaire. And as far as healers are concerned, they're completely outclassed by Bishops, who not only get White Magic x2, but also Heal +10, which is disgustingly effective on characters like Flayn who learn Fortify. As they are, Holy Knights feel more like a gimmick at best than a worthwhile class with actual thought put behind its abilities.
@kaeBR5 жыл бұрын
I don't really think lack of Paladin or Swordmaster upgrade is an issue, they're both already very good and can easily be your final class. You don't have to promote to Master Classes if they don't make your specific build any better. I actually much prefer that Advanced classes still have niches at end-game instead of all classes being completely replaced by Master Classes. Some builds are better as Master Classes (i.e. Bow Knight Leonie) and others are better as Advanced Classes (i.e. Bishop Mercedes). That's good, there's more variety to the game that way. Lack of -faire skills isn't a dealbreaker, anyone can just learn them by reaching S+ rank in their respective weapon and equipping it as a normal skill. It's nice to get them for free, but it's not the end of the world to have to spend an extra skill slot. Gremory with Tomefaire is still way better than Warlock. Extra casts are extremely useful for spells like Luna and Dark Spikes on Lysithea. Mortal Savant's ideal use is for melee-magic hybrid units that want to use magic weapons, like Manuela. She's especially good in NG+ where you can give her the Beast Crest and have her use Blutgang up close, and Bolting/Bolt Axe from a distance, while having Silence/Warp for support. I don't think it's a very good class for Felix, he does much better as a sword/gauntlets War Master. Dark Knight is probably the ideal class for Marianne, if you want to take advantage of Frozen Lance, Blutgang, Thoron and Physic. With magic weapons, she doesn't desperately need more spell casts and would much rather have good movement and Canto to maintain good positioning, so she can attack or support while avoiding being in range of enemy attacks, given her terrible defenses. It's also pretty good for taking advantage of Stride and Annette's Rally. Holy Knight is completely terrible though. There's honestly no reason to ever go Holy Knight instead of Dark Knight given how terrible White Tomefaire is, and that Dark Knight gets overall better stats and growth to do the same job, and also has access to spells, mounted movement and Canto. Holy Knight would be much better if the third skill was White Magic Uses x2 instead of Terrain Resistance, and if White Tomefaire was replaced by a version of White Magic Range +1 that applied to support spells, so they would actually have a proper niche.
@magnusprime9624 жыл бұрын
Shade Knight Give your Holy Knight a Levin Sword (or Blutgang for Marianne) and a lot of your problems will be solved. Levin Swords (and Blutgang) use Magic instead of Strength for damage, and can be used at range (I don’t think Blutgang can do that part). You now have a weapon they can do solid damage with and the equivalent of a spell that can have around 30 charges.

During part two, this shifts to all units in your army and is actually called somethign along the lines of "training drills". 2) Byleth is among the harder characters to do this type of stuff in, as he does not have access to the chores you can assign to members of your army. The weird synergy for classes is why I'm really hoping we get a class pack in future DLC. A male Gremory equivalent, better sword master classes, more flying classes (griffon rider as a flying sword class perhaps?) or even flying magic classes would all be welcome additions.
@MrGhosta55 жыл бұрын
weapon skills are really easy to train, faith and reason are a bit tricky to train as most characters don't learn spells until they hit d rank. movement skills are the hardest to train as you can't earn exp in combat for movement skills unless your class actually uses that skill. (i.e. cavalier earns riding exp from combat). that means raising flying skill for male units is actually really difficult as males can't class into a flying unit until they reach lv 20 and c rank flying. i literally have everyone's goals set to ridding, flying, or armor. Due note that if a cav/flier dismounts they stop earning ridding/flying exp until they remount. faith/reason also can't be raised in combat until you reach d rank and learn your first spell. The master classes are really weird as most of them require an unnatural class progression. it obvious that your supposed to go fighter >armored knight> fortress knight >great knight but to actually get the riding skill you actually need to spend a bunch of time as a cavalier. holy/dark knight are even weirder as you basically need to go through the entire class tree twice. once as a monk > priest > bishop and again as soldier >cav>paladin
@gyrz195 жыл бұрын
Not really, as you can easily get a character skill raised outside of combat. Instruct them in the skill, set their goal to that skill and for riding/flying/armor you can get the extra points from the work choice. If the character needs the Faith skill then have them do choir practice. In my playthrough my characters easily got more skill gains outside of combat than inside of combat.
@stanmissletainn58115 жыл бұрын
Just do as I did, I wanted Holy Knight Marianne, so I set her goals to lance and riding, and used faith on the battlefield, once she got a c in lances I switched back to faith and riding and as soon as I got her to level 30 I had her at 100% pass rate.(side note I started her tutoring to become a holy knight very early on)

Another thing of note for full efficiency is that, if a master class you want to get with a character includes a budding talent, it may be best to focus their goals elsewhere and/or delay their turn at doing the group activity for it until after it has been instructed the 12 times needed to unlock the skill strength.

I’ve been doing some very painful grinding on my level 1 main character. My plan was to keep on retrying for better level ups, particularly I wanted 6 out of the 9 different stats per level minimum. I haven’t had any luck with getting stats yet as my best has been 5 out 9 and with each unique level up taking half an hour. I However also wanted to power level her weapon skills. So I spent the first few chapters levelling my undesirable characters and breaking one of each of the 5 physical weapons. Funnily enough I also found rusted versions of all 5. I used my time exploring to raise faith and reason to D for byleth and flying to D as well. One of the 2 early C rank battalions increases def by 4 but also increases hit by 5. The other C rank increases def by 3 and does not affect hit. By equipping a iron shield the 4 def battalion and standing on a thicket byleth takes no damage from the enemies I’m farming. By using a broken weapon i have a 5 percent chance to hit my enemies. Because they are standing in a forest or in a thicket. Once their weapons break that chance goes up to 14. Entering combat increases class exp always. Being harmed has no effect on player exp. missing all of my attacks means i get no player exp, however i still gain weapon exp. utilizing this with the divine pulse and retreat mechanic i have gotten so far S+ axes swords and authority, A bows lances and brawling. I haven’t bothered much with reason or faith because reason has 95% hit rate that can’t go any lower yet and faith is just a healing spell at the moment. If the deathknight can avoid spells well then I will use him to train reason and faith. I was fortunate to have an online liaison sell me a master seal. If I wanted to I could slowly level byleth to max and class change at the minimum levels. Part of me wants to try killing the deathknight with a level one byleth. I might be able to do it with a weapon skill crit or a really good gambit. I want to have my byleth get the class masteries of the bishop, fortress knight and paladin. To use wyvern lord for levelling past 30 and to stay as once 60. Once all that is done I’ll do it all over again with Dimitri and then send him out as a liaison. I hope they add more content for the endgame because right now I don’t have something to do once I reach my goals.

I am not going to bother with level cap, however it is nice to know that I don’t need to buy any consumables but I can still choose to. I had done my research on the bonus stats given by class certifications when your stats are low. The only classes at level 10 that are likely to give stats are the thief (11 speed and dexterity) and the armored knight (12 defense). Neither of which I could use as my stats are either already there or better. A good few students have been recruited that had stat boosters on them. However many of the remaining students require the skills that don’t train easily. I don’t like the idea of tea time but it will help me recruit Dorothea and increase my stats, so it is going to happen. Otherwise I cannot be bothered to work on character relationships. I haven’t been using any of my consumable stat boost items on the odd chance that I reach the level for a class certification and can gain that particular stat from it. It is likely that my character is growing too quickly and won’t gain any class certification benefits. Without any weapon skills to rank up my unique level ups can occur every 1-2 minutes. I have been levelling faith while I get exp, currently my character has that at C rank. By the time I reached the end of D+ I found a method to get very little exp and decent faith exp. I haven’t used it as a farm method yet but merely discovered it. I’m not going to bother with it because levelling in the mid twenties should be slow enough that I can juggle my character class between level ups to train skills to S+. Almost all my liaisons that show up keep selling me master seals when all I wanted was just 1 master seal and plenty of advanced seals. One of them sold me a silver shield. It’s nice but looks ugly, I very much prefer the iron shield appearance. As for how I find time to do all this pointless farming. I constantly watch movies with my family while playing, sometimes I’m the only person home and so I have to watch the dogs and so I farm some more. Otherwise I’m playing other games. I would prefer if this game had a farming method similar to the sacred stones. At the top of the tower of valni the final boss can drop a random stat boost item. On a side note people keep worshipping seth for some reason but ross has always been my favourite.

Growth-wise, sure, Soldier and Monk may seem inferior, but their real value is their rewards for mastery: Reposition and Def +2 for Soldier, and Draw Back and Mag +2 for Mage. Def +2 is a surprisingly sizable boost to survivability in the early game, especially if paired with HP +5 for anyone who mastered Commoner/Noble along the way, and Mag +2 is a decent leg up for mages who take a while to get going on their damage growth. More importantly, I cannot stress enough the amount of shenanigans I've gotten up to with those movement abilities: moving in to land a melee-range gambit, then Dragging the unit back out of reach of the immobilized enemy; assassinating the closest enemy and then shuffling back out of range of the next one (or at least far enough back to get behind someone sturdier); just moving a pair of mages (who don't usually have that many combat artes to compete with these movement abilities) together so they can use Draw Back on each other to give themselves an effective +1 Move as they cross the map; the list goes on. Shove and Swap from Fighter and Myrmidon, respectively, are decent enough at these movement tactics, but in my experience they tend to be more awkward to use. (Swap, for example, doesn't actually speed units along traversing the map since it just exchanges their positions, and using Shove for the same purpose leaves the Shoving unit behind). The real cream of the crop, however, and the reason more than half of my units went through Soldier this playthrough, is the glory that is Canto + Reposition. Fortress Knights can keep up with cavalry if you use your horses that aren't attacking to Reposition them along. Rescue isn't nearly as necessary for cheeky Warp tactics if you can just ride in, retrieve your wayward unit, and ride back out. Keeping Jeralt away from that boss so you can rob/murder the Death Knight in time is so much easier if you have a chain of mounted units tossing him over their shoulder and then riding into body-block positions. Perhaps most importantly, fliers can lob units over one-square-wide city walls/chasms/obstructions without wasting charges of Rescue or Warp, opening up whole new tactical options. I once saved an enemy Hilda's life by constantly Repositioning the target she'd fixated on back and forth across a wall, making her run in circles until I had finished the map. Seriously. Cannot recommend enough Reposition on anyone with a saddle in their future.

So many comments about optimal growth rates, etc, but until they implement a harder game mode, I don't see how stat optimization is relevant. Even on hard mode, you have to be careful not over-level if you want some challenge. I think the more important thing is make sure your choice of classes makes the game fun. Male characters have a much harder time to lvl flying. So its a good idea to pair them with some female character in flying missions. Females do get a pegassus on 2nd, but they are very weak. I had them set as adjuants to lvl them as bows are freaking everywhere. Also its a good idea to check every character red and blue arrows, as if they have red in flying for example, its pointless to make them a fly class as they will just lvl to slow. Some characters do have a weird setup, so i generaly train those as they have less weaknesses to a specific mastery class. Ignatz sword and bow would make him a Bow Knight in the end. But you can also make him a assasin if you dont want to lvl riding. His budding talent tho is just weird and it would take a while to make him a healer on horse.
@thecavalry56565 жыл бұрын
Ignatz's hidden talent is reason and he actually serves as a decent mage in early levels. He gets outclassed as a bow user by Claude and as a mage by Lysithea but as a mixed attacker he can use whichever weapon targets his enemy's lowest stat to deal decent damage. At the very least he's useful for providing chip damage to feed your better units chip in the early game before they can double and get ORKOs for themselves, at which point shift him over to faith so he can play a more supportive role, and then just bench him once you get better units, because everyone who can use magic should be leveling both reason and faith anyways.

Its also kind of Counterproductive to not mention that each class can get your unit extra Points in weapon mastery, so thats another thing that should be considered if you plan ahead. I say this because i had the Opportunity to make Ferdinand a Holy knight. With S+ spear mastery S Riding And just by going to chuch everytime i could with Lindhardt or dorothea... He manage to get to C+ and just needed a Small push. And that small push came in the form of Beung allowed to be a Priest pushing its white magic faster than just going to church and giving him lessons about it. Once i had enough... I promoted him into the class and was one of the Best offensive Healerd i had because of his High mastery on spear. I managed to do this in Hard mode alongside with other cool promotions. Dancing Dorothea with a Gremory mastery and S+ reason and Faith Had Lindhard stay as a Bishop. But he was my Jack of Most trades. Cause he could had been most masteries. By the end of the game... He had 90% on all of the Riders except for armour which it had 70%. Not able to fly Nor become a Mortal savant or Warmaster. But he was one of those that had the most opportunities excluding the mandatory Edelgarde or Main Unit. And All by playing with classes from the start... Allowing them to fill their weapon mastery faster. Which is always a plus. On hard youbdont get a chance to Grind, and that was to be expected. But you can still get optimal results this way

I think that advanced and master classes kind of exist alongside each other, and different characters prefer different classes, some advanced and some master. My Assassin Petra is best staying as an Assassin, rather than leveling useless magic and cutting her speed growth. That said, the farthest out of the way my Ingird has to fo to become a Falcon Knight is C rank swords, and beyond that can stay flying and Lances (unless you make her a wyvern rider in between for the better strength, then she needs axes). 100% worth it for one while only a hindrance for the other. They have their roles and so do the characters.

The way i see it is this: When you start up a new game in FE3H, you have to make a choice- Do you want to COMMIT to just seeing how everything goes and not trying to push any limits (or basically just playing for story) OR do you even slightly think you will want to see how strong you can get or make some efficient choices to make the game less of a grind in the long run? because if you are in the second camp, as I was, i highly highly recommend leaning into it and just googling many things. Lecture question lists, Advice box lists, All Class req's n masteries list, Individual character growth %'s, Recruitment req guide, Gift and lost item guide, you name it. You can do most if not all of this without spoiling the story for yourself but while still being able to make informed decisions for the long run. in my first few in game months i *agonized* over what master class i wanted every unit to work towards by looking at the master class req's online, and some i ended up changing a bit later (but because i started so early i could do that easily). i did that for every recruitable unit as i spent most of my time pre skip just making sure i recruited everyone, with massive help from gifts raising supports, and the recruit guide so i didnt have to fail a recruit and reload to remember what they required. i also got most of my master and even advanced classes with around 60% pass rate, because i could reload if it didnt work and every free day was another chance at passing. and it often did. hope that helps.

I'd have to disagree with you about the beginner classes though, while you're right about the growths, I find reposition to be VASTLY superior to Draw back and swap, and slightly better than shove, as it let's you most effectively move your units forwards faster. While +2 Strength and (+2 Magic for magic only classes) is typically the best of the 4 possible bonuses to get, the defense from soldier is very useful early on on hard mode classic, and the +2 speed that myrmidons get is usually unnecessary on classes that are going for pure sword skills since they will double almost everyone without that anyway. Mostly though it's the movement abilities for me, those last the whole game, while maybe an extra 1-2 strength or speed won't matter late game.

All I wanted to know is if it's better to rush towards higher classes for higher growth-rates (maybe) or if it's better to focus on mastering classes first?
@LinkKing75 жыл бұрын
Depends. Does Mastery yield a skill that you really want? Warrior, for example, gives Wrath at mastery which is really good. In that case, might be better to stick there for a bit longer. Also, most Master Classes don't have better growth than advanced ones, and I'm putting the finishing touches on a video that covers that in detail which should be out in the next day or so hopefully!
@AndersonWave174 жыл бұрын
My characters wouldnt master their early classes like commoner and soldier for their respective mastery abilities like health +5 even after getting them to level 8 or reposition after getting to level 14....like my question is: is it worth going well beyond the level cap and WAITING 5 or more levels to get every classes mastery ability?
@LinkKing74 жыл бұрын
You don’t have to go well beyond the level cap. Any degree of combat will give you the class exp, so just getting hit from range without countering will do that for example, while granting minimal exp. you should be able to master them relatively easily that way instead while maintaining your level. Hp+5 feels very worth it in early game and the positional skills are quite nice. In maddening mode I’d imagine both are highly valuable as well

@jamesking47362 жыл бұрын
Honestly here is all you need to know: get everyone you want to use to riding skill A+ and then turn them into a flyer or calvary witch the exception of characters with high movement from items, honestly if your units don't have high movement what's the point? I just did a run where everyone was high movement and it was almost not fair, wavern lords are OP as hell because they have like 2 less defensive than armored knight or fortress knight and have way more movement, holy knight, dark knight and dark flyer all really great (valkery falls a bit flat with no damage bonus) and with certain units they will be OP (like purple boy who gets a bad rap because everyone turns him into clavery, he was born to be a dark knight with +3 black magic range) bow knights are way weaker then the magic classes so no point in bows in this game so I don't use em, falcon knights are awesome high evasion units too. Oh also get EVERYONE fiendish blow and mighty blow because extra +6 might adds up.

You don't need masterclasses for all characters. Catherine's best with her sword so keeping her as a sword master is no issue
@jzenith5 жыл бұрын
Or you could train her in Reason for Mortal Savant, which will give her more movement, and a range option at the cost of no inventory slots. Alternatively, classroom train her in lances and flying to put her into Falcon Knight, which will greatly increase her mobility, with the only drawback being the loss of swordfaire as a class skill. There are loads of ways to use different units. Just because a character doesn't perfectly fall into a master class, doesn't mean you shouldn't work towards putting them into one.

What I've found so far, in short: Definitely have one: Armored Units. Just don't put them near mages. Even then just have them wear a Hexlock and they'll survive. Go for them if you can: All Cavalry. So slippery, massive range, each one of them is great. Cheap but effective: Warlock, Sword DPS, Axe DPS. These get the job done, and are easy to train. Good: Bishop, Fliers. Situationally useful. Bishops are too flimsy to go for offensive casts, and healing occurs every other turn. Fliers are scared of archers, and there are a lot of archers in this game... Plus they're expensive Meh: Pure Archery. Yeah don't use pure archery, go bow knight if you can. Snipers are honestly useless. More in-depth on my units: Byleth - Enlightened One. Jack-Of-All-Trades, the one saving grace is Creator Sword and high Avo, can tank and kill effectively Edelgard - Armored Lord. Beeeeeeef!!! Honestly, Edelgard is the *probably* the strongest character in the game that you can essentially get for free. Barring pure magic users, she can tank and kill anything. She literally will solo monsters for me, and it's bonkers. Ferdinand - Paladin. He's alright. Paladin doesn't have any good upgrades though, but then again I'm not sure if he needs anything else. He has outstanding Avo and duels with units all day! Caspar - War Master. I can't find Silver Gauntlets for some reason, so he is pure axes. He works well enough, crit gambles are too stressful but his high strength makes him slap pretty hard. Give him Prayer Ring, he needs it. Bernadetta - Sniper. I love Bern, but she has probably the worst class in the game. It does what mages do, except mages can also kill armors. And mages are curiously good at taking out Wyvern Riders... so *DO NOT GO FOR SNIPER.* Petra - Dancer. Her armor is cute but she has such good stat growths she's much much better as a DPS. I adore Petra in her dancer outfit though, it's just so fitting! Dorothea - Gremory. It's is overtuned in a weird way. Too many spell charges, not enough turns to use them. I rarely get through 20 Thunders and 20 Heals in a single game, but it's nice to have dual effectiveness. Difficult to juggle though, she always seems to be out of place. Lindhardt - Bishop. Oh boy... he's kinda weak. Very situationally useful, but he does his job when he needs to, roughly every other turn. Hubert - Warlock. He literally doubles everything, and I'm not sure why. By far my most consistent damage units. Warlock again has no good upgrades for males, but it probably doesn't need it. Lysithea - A slightly weaker Hubert, but smaller and equally goth. She comes with only Range 2 spells until very very late into Reason training which makes it *VERY DANGEROUS FOR HER TO DO ANYTHING* so I had to give her Caduceus Staff to outrange counters. Catherine - Swordmaster. Pretty good. Her saving grace is Thunderbrand, and that runs out very quickly due to being a semi-Brave Weapon and potentially quad-hitting. This is *really fucking expensive* but it hits hard and gets the job done. Shamir - Sniper. Again, don't go sniper. Shamir thankfully comes with Bow and Lance, so she can easily become a Bow Knight with lots of investment. Unfortunately, I got her so late in my run that I'm stuck using Sniper, which is honestly trash.
@Gag18005 жыл бұрын
Made Edelgard a Wyvern Lord and gave her an Aurora Shield (removes bow weakness), she became the most broken unit in the game. Her high res growth seemed to counteract the Wyvern Lords weakness to magic, and the natural high def growth made her an all purpose tank, whilst sporting both high str and spd. Top it all off with flying movement, and you had a death machine that could quickly eliminate high value targets with little risk very quickly. Her only real flaw was that her hit rate went to shit whenever an enemy had high speed or had some kind of Avo boost, she is an axe user after all, but even using swords didn't always help. Cyril in particular was a friggin pain in the ass to kill, for all my units. nevermind Edel. Perhaps lances might offset that issue

@@LinkKing7 Not to mention the practical element of how much harder you're making things on yourself going a stretch of time with no ability to cast Heal or easy way to bypass high Def targets that aren't armor classes (since the shop does sell Maces and other such options options exist). "Better head start" off 5% growth boosts..... We all know that even having a War Master or Falcon Knight who each have a total of about 70% boost to your growths overall will still regularly roll the minimum of 2 stat increases per level.... God this game pisses me off but I still love it poor Coco though, 3 maps in a row where her level up was 2 points so I rewound and left her sitting on the starting line doing nothing till she ended up 3-5 levels behind most of my main team all because of damn growth rng also in my most recent play-through Marianne, who's widely considered one of the worst characters in the game, ended up with massively higher stats then everyone else and hard carried from level 10 till about 25 as a thief/trickster spamming soul blade, while Raphael ended up completely neutered and was relegated to an adjutant shield bot

Short breakdown: Does your male character wield magic? *Yes* : Level swordfighting if it's Black Magic. You're aiming for Mortal Savant. Level lance and riding if it's White Magic. You're aiming for Holy Knight. Alternatively, if you have the time and points, push swords and Black and White Magic. Mortal Savants can cast both, but the skill check is reason, not faith. *No* : Aim for Great Knight or Warmaster as Master Classes. Every other class will basically fall into your lap. The only exception is Dark Knight. Level reason once you achieve the Paladin class. Does your female character wield magic? *Yes* : Level both Black and White Magic and eventually turn her into a Gremory. *No* : Focus on Flying, lance and sword for Falcon Knight. Or focus on bow, lance and riding for Bow Knight.
