Well. I know one funk brother is still alive at this point. Maybe two. I know at least one because he’s my grandpa. Joe Messina. Saw him yesterday. He just turned 92 this week and he looks the same now as did 20 years ago to be honest. He still jams at home on the guitar.

Well, that is great news! I saw the Funk Brothers play in London back in 2004 and it was one of the greatest concerts I've ever been to. Please tell your grandpa "thanks" from me!

Joan got an old soul, and is perfect with these young soul but old musicians. Just about a perfect match as far as I'm concerned. And I once again got to see my influencer, Bob Babbitt playing, so wonderful, and he's definitely still got it at the time, no doubt about it.

Saw this show in Berlin. I don´t go out so much for music anymore. but this one was worth it I was totally impressed with the spirit, and feel they put out. Not too worried about a " crash" here or there. I didn´t notice one in the gig I saw., but then I try not to listen to music too much as a musician it can spoil the fun in my experience.

Looks like an end of show party kaizersotz evrybody on, and belt it out, There was a glitch with the brass at 2:38 but there can be a fair bit of jostling in these end of show, party, full stage situations. Motown did have a very prominant trebly sound . I got plenty of bass here though ?
