I would suggest a "designated survivor" plan, where after you meet quota, 3 guys go out to get extra stuff while 1 guy stays with the ship, keeps the door closed when people aren't bringing stuff in, and doesn't leave the ship for any reason. Then, if the other 3 die, they vote for the ship to take off early, signaling the DS that it's time to go. That way, you don't lose your loot and can still make a profit on top of your quota.

Another option with the bees is who ever is dead votes for the ship to leave and who ever is alive just make sure they are somewhere on the outside of the ship. When it leaves the bees are gone and then the alive person can go into the ship. @Kyle
