It isn´t always about laughing and fun, they can be stressful too. Screaming, nibbling virtually everything apart when no human is present - especially green cheek conures - even if they have their own wood or something else to bite on (they even wouldn´t hesitate to bite you, which can hurt very much), keeping them at best constantly busy, show affection when they want it and so on.Overall owning a parrot (at best two of them) has pros and cons.

While you can more or less easily tell a cat or dog, or even a bunny what they better shouldn´t do (althrough they also have weak moments and do it anyway), birds generally do not care at all. They - know - their misbehaviour by showing it through behaviour when being caught in the act, but that won´t stop them, as soon as "danger is over". Birds can be very ignorant if they want to entertain themselfes, even more than cats.

My mother had a Quaker parrot named spanky for 34 years, this parrot bit the hand that fed him and everyone else except my mom. He wasn’t much of a talker but a noisemaker and swore like a sailor, it was in 1998 that he picked up his favorite English word “F***!” When my grandmother burned her fingertip on a hot pan. Since then he squawked, tweeted, and said “FUUUU*********!!!”. He recently passed away from old age only a few months ago, but he left quite the legacy in this family.

My bird figured out how to take selfies whit my phone. The same bird learned that newly boiled tea is really warm. My cockatiel was sitting on my shoulder, and i had just brewed a cup of tea, had placed it down on my computer desk and was about to sit down when she decided to jump in to the tea cup. I quickly grabd her and ran in to the bathroom and poured lukewarm water on her. Luckely she diden't get any burns but she stays away from that tea cup now. Birds... you cant help but to love the tiny winged caos rats...

My parrot makes a really good statue and if you get close to the cage he rests his leg on the bars ready to jump away. Sometimes he makes loud drill sounds and gets annoyed about nothing. He does play peekaboo but that's it. No whistling or talking. When out the cage flight distance is about 1m or slightly less and he's not clipped which is good. He wont take from my hand in or out the cage. Apparently he's only young, I think maybe 2 by now so time is on my side.
