Solution for Sprint weekends: Friday: - FP1 (1 hour) - FP2 (1 hour) Saturday: - Qualifying (as normal) - 15 minute break - Reverse grid Sprint Race (points 1st-8th as currently. 1x soft, medium & hard tyres each to choose from allocated just for the sprint, Parc Firmé rules relaxed on car setup, though not parts) Sunday: - Grand Prix (grid from Qualifying as normal) Justification: - This would incentivise all runners to push as hard as possible on the Sprint race, without messing up their tyre choices for the other sessions. - It would also make Sprint races sufficiently different that you wouldn't just be getting the first stint of the Grand Prix like we are currently. - It would also give the lower places teams a real chance at fighting for points and give them a chance to show off their racing skills against the top drivers who would be fighting though the field but having to balance their desire for a few more points with their desire not to break the car for the next day. - While reverse grids have the potential to feel artificial, keeping the points as low as they are, plus only doing it in a Sprint and only 6 times a year max that keeps it very much secondary to the main event.

Honestly anyone who watched De Vries' junior career saw this mediocre form coming. Dude wasn't bad but he only won the title when he did because he'd been kicking around for a couple of years and an unprecedented amount of better F2 drivers were promoted to F1 in short order and the reigning GP3 champion was tragically killed. (In fact his title rival the year he won was Latifi.) His FE success is partially down to the talent pool being slightly weaker (though it's not bad at all) and it's entirely possible that those slower, less grippy cars with limited braking capacity just suit his strengths and weaknesses better. His result at Monza was legitimately a good one but it 100% flattered to deceive as his only benchmark was once again Latifi.
@davidfritz7688 Жыл бұрын
Here's ChatGPT's take on why Checo is so strong at street circuits: "Sergio Perez has a reputation for being very strong on street circuits. Some factors that may contribute to his success on these types of tracks include his smooth driving style, his ability to manage tire wear, and his skill in finding the right racing line. Additionally, street circuits tend to have tight corners and require precise driving, which plays to Perez's strengths as a technically skilled driver. Another possible factor is that street circuits often require a certain level of aggression and bravery, as the walls are close and there is little margin for error. Perez is known for being a very aggressive driver and is not afraid to take risks to gain positions. This can sometimes lead to mistakes, but when he is able to find the right balance of aggression and control, it can result in very strong performances on street circuits. Overall, it is likely a combination of these factors that contribute to Perez's success on street circuits."

Tommy’s “sure am” beginning the manscape advert was bone dry and hysterical 😅😅😅😅

Coincidence or not, it is funny to see Alonso on such good terms with Briatore and Stroll Sr. The man knows who to keep close it seems.

I have to disagree on the DRS= better racing thing. Overtakes on a straight have become so boring, i would any day prefer less overtakes but more intelligent ones, where drivers have to try out different trajectoties and fight wheel to wheel.

Checo world champ over Max this year would be fantastic--but is sadly a long shot.

No chance as long as Josef Verstappen around , he will sabotage Perez if Perez a threat the last 3 or 4 races….

@@2Greenlidyeah not like Max is a far better racer or anything. It would be Jos sabotaging him. Yup.

Such unnecessary fuss maker you are. Go check Lewis&Russ and Alonso&Stroll just to names a few.
