Three questions: 1) Will there be a web API available, so one could integrate the tracker data into other apps? 2) Will there be web components available so one could e.g. integrate the map view in other apps (Angular in our case)? 3) Will the FT Platform be available in the Azure marketplace?

I was writing before thinking - sorry, just started researching GPS trackers a few hours ago. Regarding (3): I read that the FT Platform is the "A platform - the embedded operating system - is the core element in the development of Teltonika GPS trackers". Thus my question, whether the FT Platforn will be available in the Azure marketplace, doesn't make sense. What I'm looking for is an application I can talk to via web API in order to get the GPS data from the tracking devices. Preferably on Azure. Does it exist already or are consumers expected to implement their own solutions? The applications that I found (via the Wiki of teltonika-gps): - FOTA (stands for "firmware over the air"). This is a "SaaS solution for the remote management of Teltonika Telematics devices". This one has a web API, but there's no access to GPS data, right? - TCT: This is "software for Teltonika Telematics device management". So comparable to FOTA, but for the desktop, yes?

Now I see that the TCT (Telematics Configuration Tool) has a map view with a marked location of a device. So it does receive GPS data. This looks good. Could TCT be installed in a VM on Azure in order to manage mobile network devices and receive data? If yes, than that app should have database with the GPS data and we could provide a tiny service which exposes that data to our actual apps. Is this the intended way to go if being on Azure (or any other cloud thingy)? Or is TCT really only for local use (via the serial communication port)?

Ok, I think I get it now :-) In the Wiki of teltonika-gps there are entries under "Fleet management platforms". Those look like solutions for actually getting access to the tracking data of the devices. So Teltonika is providing the hardware and configuration tools - and its partners provide the apps for accessing/processing of the data. Nice! I wish I had reached that revelation a bit faster. Maybe a big arrow on the main site is missing --> "And here's how you actually get the data out of your devices" :-) Or maybe it's just not my day today.

Fleet Telematics (FT) platform is primarily dedicated to new device development, and all Teltonika Telematics hardware will be based on it. It is important to note that FT platform is not a software or tracking application. On the other hand, the Telematics Configuration Tool (TCT) is indeed a software (but not a tracking ) application. TCT serves as a tool designed to assist in managing and configuring hardware devices built on the FT platform, such as the FTC921, FTC961, and FTC881.
