Every time you see a mob, you load up their entire loot table. To allow more mobs to be shown on screen required revising the loot tables which drove the itemization changes. It all makes sense now.

So what if they have bad ideas? They proved they can listen to ppl and change things accordingly...bad seasons? Even the most popular seasons will have haters and disliked ...that's how the world is...as long as they continue work one the game like they are now then the sky is the limit?

Okay honestly I hope youre correct and they continue to listen to feedback and make the game better and better. And yes every game has bad season/patches.... but D4 is NEW, how are we already to the point of having lackluster seasonal themes? They basically released this game in EA, I mean they having to rework core mechanics post release? Resistances, Itemization, Leaderboards? This is not some Indie company this is Blizzard.

In most Arpgs you get the best gear to farm endgame ubers. Or to just the endgame systems, the problem is D4 is very limited on Endgame. It feels as if you gear to farm Duriel on rinse and repeat trying to get Uber Uniques. Once you get those There is really not much more to do? Hopefully Season 4 changes that with the Pitt.

Fair to say that the seasons have been generally uninteresting. The base game is in an ok spot and will be better with the codex refresh.

The codex overhaul is def better and a W for the game. The way it has been since launch was really terribly designed, it needed this massive rework.

I couldn’t agree more I can’t stand that Rod guy every thing he says is bs. People liked season 2 because the powers we got were strong and fun metamorphosis, hectic, moonrise that’s why we liked season 2. He’s clueless and it’s over the top ridiculous any competent business owner would have gotten rid of him by now.

I agree with basically everything said here except for 1 thing. The game is objectively darker and more gritty then D3 was and i would say roughly around the same as D2. Aside from maybe a few things like the way summoned skeletons looked early on most of it is pretty dark and gritty. I'm not really sure what the expectations around that are. Now i haven't played since season 2 because fuck season 3. So maybe some things changed during season 3 or maybe I'm just not understanding your definition or expectations of dark and gritty.

The atmosphere is actually not bad in the base game, I just feel like some of the comestics really do not belong in Diablo. Some of them look as if they should be in WoW instead. It is concernign that the game is not even a year old and we already have more cartoony MTX, esp since the game is not even that old yet. Makes me worried that the future of D4 will look more and more like WoW (though I would love to be wrong about this). BTW you are luckly you skipped S3 it was really boring. I am hoping Season 4 is better, though from what I have read its going to be really light on content. It seems Blizzard went all hands on deck overhualing the game with the itemization changes.

D4 going forward for me is basically like this if I'm bored enough at the time of a season launch and nothing else looks worth playing, I'll give it a shot but I'm not playing it over any new games that might come out.

What assumptions? I read what Rod Fergusson said verbatim, and linked to the article in the pinned comment. He thinks season 2 was a success due to the power fantasy of vampires because he knows the base game lacked that. He said they have to optimize the engine to add monster density. The only thing that was more opinion and I made assumptions on is the direction the MTX are going to start to go in.

I have even been checking out Last Epoch, that doesn’t meant I can’t comment on Diablo esp since I have been playing the franchise for almost 30 years. Btw good for you and the 1000s of overs who have built custom PCs and it seems every Diablo 4 player is a beta tester as well? Btw ever play a game called Zork? If not I recommend that one it’s really good.
