In the closing plenary session of the IFC Global Private Education Conference, our Founder and CEO, Mike Feerick, shared the stage with Edward Roekaert (President of UPC Peru), David Stofenmacher (Founder and CEO of Utel University), Rose Dodd (Executive Director Education Collaborative at Ashesi University), Douglas L. Becker (Founder and Chairman of Cintana Education), and Chris McCahan (IFC's Global Head of Education).
During the session, Mike shared transformative insights on the future of education, confronting the current educational and employment mismatch. Mike remarked on a previous conference quote from Arizona State University President Michael Crow that stated that in the USA, $750 billion is wasted annually on 3rd level education leading to no qualifications. He emphasised the potential of AI and psychometrics to revolutionise learning, making it accessible and personalised.
Key takeaways from Mike's session include:
✅ There is an urgent need to bridge the gap between education and employment demands
✅ AI should be used to forcibly drive down the cost of education
✅ All learning should be free, leveraging digital platforms like Alison
✅ Introducing psychometrics to personalise learning paths, making education tailored to individual talents and aptitudes
✅ The important role AI can play in enhancing educational delivery and efficiency
As we conclude the final day of this conference, we are excited to build a future where education is accessible, tailored, and directly linked to the evolving landscape of global employment.
