One day, these headsets/glasses are going to be fantastic though. They look like regular frames which is still an amazing thing when you think about it. I def. think this is the future.

So they're mediocre glasses whose only useful feature is the pov camera which, however, will only film for 60 seconds, only in portrait mode because that's the type of content mark zuckerberg wants people to make. This product is a joke.

I am a totally blind American and I purchased these sunglasses a few days ago. The AI works phenomenally well… All I have to say is "he Metta, what's in front of me?" And I get an adequate description that can be further interrogated to learn even deeper information… I'm sure you can appreciate how stunning this is for a blind person. 11:41

I looked at them in a store directly comparing them and they were almost identical to actual wayfarer. Just slightly larger but honestly I could barely tell.

Honestly, I have had a set since they came out there really good glasses, the AI is actually pretty accurate and detailed it’s like a google assistant but smarter. I use these as my everyday glasses and I have had no issues with them. I’ve been able to record videos at theme parks and the video quality is amazing for a POV on Roller Coasters and Rides. I’ve been able to talk to family members through them that’s amazing when you’re in a place you don’t want earbuds on. The fact that I can get POV footage while talking to my family is amazing too. These are the best glasses I’ve ever owned for the price and what you pay for is really worth it. If you have questions let me know

The best review iof these so far. It has highlighted many of the issues why I've not bought a pair. I'm severely sight impaired and would find the video and photography helpful in situations where I'm not sure what I'm looking at, I could take a pic and look later at my convenience and not worry about dropping my phone/white stick/dog! Video format and length are deal breakers but audio and phone call capability are really interesting.

I had the original Ray-Ban stories, and I picked these up when they dropped a few months ago, with the transitions lenses. They are a decent pair of sunglasses with the ability to take some decent pictures and they just added a few AI features. I love them.

There’s no time limit when using them to livestream to IG/FB. And you can go back and save the streamed video to another device after. It’s due to the storage limit on device.

Interesting topic, and I also always wondered why this tech has not been developed way further. On the other hand, Meta is probably the last company I want to give all access to my life. And with constant cam/mic access they get really ALL your life data. I stay analog I guess

I have used RayBan Meta now about a month. The best thing is sound, but vertical video is a very bad mistake. Sound system is actually great. You can drive a classic cabriolet like SAAB 900 OG and you phone calls are crystal clear. This is actually first hands free that works for me. Video is the worst part. It should be: - Horizontal - 16:9 - 4K - 120 fps - 15 minutes. I think that’s impossible today, but that should be achieved in few years.

Thanks for the honest review. I am totally blind and want to get a pair of these to use firstly for the improving AI features, and I know they are improving with every firmware version. I have heard on some audio podcasts that Blind people have been using them to read their mail such as when receiving accounts in the post, finding items in the fridge, identify the clothing in the closet, and even finding objects they have dropped or the dustbin that might’ve been moved in the garden and even reading LCD screams for them. They have apparently also extended the recording length to 3 minutes now, but you will need to change that in your settings. Also as I do some KZbin video recordings, I am really impressed with the audio stereo separation in the audio recording quality of the internal microphones on these glasses. I’m glad to hear that the speakers are pretty good for music. The only thing they need to change now is to get the video into landscape, maybe that can be done in firmware.

I appreciate this analysis from a professional. I love ray bans and these hit the everyday style but I have bad vision and I either have to wear contacts or get them with prescription progressive lenses. My biggest concern cost wise is that they will be obsolete soon. I kind of sent them more for the audio and AI but I was hoping they would be the same as talking with ChatGPT. With so many almost features it feels like a no.

So at the time of this recording I’m sure his version had not received the update but now with version 4.1 I believe the meta assistant is a lot smarter and can actually identify things you’re looking at and answer questions like the ones he asked in the video

These will not sell well until Meta lets them talk to native apps i.e messages, notes, open apps read notification or just let them be used as bluetooth glasses with the native assistant.

You can use voice commands to record and stop rather than pressing the button. That's what I do for a full handsfree experience. I also love using the earphone to listen to audiobooks. My main gripe is the battery life. If you've got the version 4 update, you can do more with voice commands. I recently got it and started using the "Hey Meta, look and tell me" command. But it's still a hit and miss.

Just won a pair - pretty amazing - they also translated whatever I was looking at (English/Italian/Spanish/French/German) - was able to answer a math problem I wrote down - was able to answer a multiple choice question on screen - basically also acts like a BT headset so all my music streaming works great - send/listen to txts and calls - v6 update now allows 3min vids 😎

Great review 😁👌 I’m going to be getting an eye test and wanted to get these. I don’t usually wear that kind of glasses for all day use. The ones in my pic are just regular wayfarer sunglasses. What I’m not sure about is what size to get? Should I get the same size as the current sunglasses I have? They don’t have stock in so I can’t try ones on to find out :/

the problem is that these doesnt fit to many people and feels looks cheap also not really usefull while way too expensive if its gonna be in an aviator style with more camera function and better AI than maybe going to worth the price but now . . . its just an expensive toy

If you want to make a video longer than 60 seconds you can live stream to fb and others for up to 30 mins… your video will be saved to that social media account, very few people seem to have picked up on that detail.
