been advocating this myself. Harbaugh could tutor Jesse, Jesse could tutor his replacement at DC (provided its someone on staff), and we'd have a nice transition - IF JH will retire within Jesse's window of wanting to be a HC.

No, I think if Minter stuck around and we got a true stud young edge rusher or DT and filled out the corner depth a bit more we could push for that kind of record next year but right now the talent ceiling is low and our ppg is inarguably a product of who we play. We are probably closer to a top5 defense this season rather than an all time unit.

So many great coordinators fail as a HC. I love what Minter is doing, but he really needs alot more NFL experience before he should be considered as HC material. Remember that Staley had 1 solitary great year as a DC, and bombed as a HC...

How much does it s*ck for the Michigan players who learned under Minter but had to go to teams with crappy coordinators/systems? The bolts won the lotto with him and Harbaugh. Hopefully Minter has a good protege that can take over the reigns after his departure
