Some of the cinemas by me were closed years ago and are still empty now, rotting away. The fact that all the studios are churning out are re-makes or the fact you can buy them in a few weeks to stream into your home will make even more close down.

The Future of London Cinemas | 1980s Cinema | Tony Banks | GLC | Cinemas | Reporting London | 1982 0034am 30.12.24 the new craze to preserve retro cinema halls and bingo halls will surely kick into play? retro bingo gaming or retro cinema going should be all the rage as film makers revert to using actual film to record their movies as opposed to trite and slick digital.

I and an old boss of mine were concerned about this at the same time. We noticed that in our local areas all the cinemas were either being closed down or turned Into „churches”, meaning African worship centres and the like, or pubs . What people forget, is that these cinemas were also theatre’s and back in the day you could go and see the Beatles the, stones or before that shakespeare, variety performances etc. It was a way of life then to visit your local cinema/ theatre regularly. Of course it was cheap compared. Those theatre’s brought culture to the masses and this was important. Now most of them have gone sadly due to the demise in culture. Dance, bands, theatre productions and much more no longer exist in the way it did before so inevitably there natural home closes… heartbreaking for me.

0:00 I know that Woolwich cinema. It was the one on the huge junction just near the Woolwich ferry. It's where my dad took me to see Star Wars when it was originally released (and many years later an amazing Hawkwind gig!) Now it's some sort of hallewoowah church.

The Future of London Cinemas | 1980s Cinema | Tony Banks | GLC | Cinemas | Reporting London | 1982 0037am 30.12.24 i used mine - continuously. i refer to the ABC of Rochdale - now a wetherspoons. and the Odeon in Manchester which is now...,.................................. lo!!! a weatherspoons!!! sad times, indeed.... can't beat olde worlde cinema going. booths with ticket sellers... projection operators. locally based cheap and cheerful adverts, pearl and dean intro music... crackling of sound system... giggling audience members... people sinking into their seats in embarrassment at the finale of dirty dancing... walking out into the baking sun after convincing yourself it had gotten dark all the while you were sat indoors watching the feature...

Why do you insist on censoring me? ffs all I did was add a link to where you can see the all the information on that amazing cinema and I didn't even put the direct link! What is WRONG with you? Can't share anything NICE, can't have anything NICE...why do you censor the GOOD things? Good grief. Additionally, I was going to add that there's Scotti dogs with wings in the decor of the Granada--which are featured in Coraline. Neat little trivia for everyone who loves that movie, I wonder if that theater was the inspiration.

My guess is it's an automatic tube intervention, On various channels I've tried laying in chanel addresses even within ytube & they;ve been instantly deleted, so it's an algorithmthat kicks in when it detects anyklinkings.
