Honestly, I hope it doesn't end. But even if it has to, it shouldn't become automatically unplayable after it ends. All the tracks should be available and playable all the time, along with the drivers, karts, and gliders being available in the spotlight shops, daily selects, token shops, and tier shops, along with more tickets to level them up.

Crazy how time flies so quick thinking about the possible final wave of new and retro tracks. I guess the best thing to do is enjoy this game to the very end

I don't think the game will end with new content at least till next summer and for me there are 3 reasons to it. 1. Some people mentioned it, but after anniversary we would still be missing at least one nitro track which should come to the BCP, so there is no reason for them to not put that into Tour as well as atleast Madrid 3 and some r/t variants. That's a good transition to the 2nd point. 2. The July Update you mentioned. If the game would not get new content 2 months after this update, why should Nintendo even bring an update to the game? As well as we still could get like Level 9 or 10, just like the beta had them (even though I wouldn't care about them). And also this update is a good chance to get ourselves more ID gaps for new tracks, as usually these bigger updates had a lot to datamine. 3. The extreme challenges: They got added with the Yoshi Tour at the beginning of April. If you as a player were at Tier 99 at that point, and would go on to win every ranked 30 times in a row, you would be able to get it done exactly at November 1st. This is a month after anniversary and if they would not bring new things after anniversary, the interest of completing this challenge would be really low especially that nearly nobody gets those straight 30 ranked wins. (And we don't have to talk about how bad this challenge card is). And I wouldn't mind getting less content at some point. I think the character alt discussion is a bit overated as new tracks are way better than just getting 2-3 alts per tour. I think they could still bring a new track per month, as well as some new items, but not as many as there are at the moment.

Sure, we are getting a lot of new retro tracks and cool nitros for a tour. However, a big concern is the D/K/Gs. So far we’ve had 7 HE Alts in 6 months (this year) and a lot of recolored Supers since Battle Tour. Same goes with the many silver and gold variants of existing karts.

Good video man. 👍🏻 The new track content since the Sundae Tour has been insane. A ton of tracks and many not getting in the way of repeats. It means many tracks don’t have much in top shelf coverage, which then makes sense that a potential halt on new track content for a while and have repeat and recycled tours to allow the new tracks to have many drivers, karts and drivers to have major buffs. I think that easily on that cycle, they could squeeze another 12 months. It’s player appetite really to see it through to the end. It was never going to last forever, but what I would say is what an awesome game it has been. During the pandemic it was a welcomed escape and the explosion of content creators, it will be a sad day when they no longer produce the MKT content. The community has been amazing and I will continue to enjoy it for as long as I can. 👍🏻

I think tour will end soon but I don’t think it will end just yet because One thing doesn’t sit right with me. MK8DX Bcp will have 4 more nitros, one will be piranha plant cove, one will be MobDK, one will be Mobbr, but the last one is completely unknown. Either the last one doesn’t come to tour or simply has just not been added to tours code yet. And if it hasn’t been added yet then that means there would have to be an update to add it and that hypothetical update could possibly more new retros to be released after the anniversary.

AC Pocket Camp came out 2 years before Tour and even outlived AC New Horizons, so I guess Tour could still stick around for a good while. What might happen in that scenario though is that the courses made for it will be the basis for the next console's Mario Kart's classic course selection instead of a second Booster Course Pass for 8 Deluxe.

I absolutely hate how every tour the tracks change. I am so wanting to be able to play all the courses after unlocking them. I just so hope they use as many of recreated tracks for a second booster pass for Mario kart 8. It would be a shame to have all these tracks on a mobile game instead of a console Mario Kart.

To be realistic, I highly doubt that Mario Kart Tour will die once the DLC ends, it's been one of the few Mario games that has lasted longer than the other mobile games that Nintendo has uploaded, and that there is a rumor that the The game can be played on PC, that would only be a plus for the game to continue to be maintained, but of course, a whole beginning, it always has an end, and we don't know when the end of Mario Kart Tour will be

I don't think Mario Kart Tour will die if there are still players playing it. It's not dead until Nintendo say it is dead. I think it'll live just like Super Mario Run. That game is still available for download. In terms of content, yeah... I think Nintendo is starting to run out of tour ideas with the new Drivers/Karts/Gliders being less frequent now. There will indeed be a point where they'll be recycling previous tours and I think it will probably start to happen at the beginning of 2024. For a game like this, it make sense for recycling tours. I noticed that after Forza Horizon 4 has ended new content that it is recycling its previous Series. It was back in 2021 when it happened. The reason why I am comparing it to Forza Horizon 4 is that they both have similarities with Challenges and some features... in particular the Festival Playlist mirrors to Tour's Tours. Nintendo will likely announce that they're done with new content likely in the first half of 2024. I didn't mentioned 4th Anniversary cause out of all of what is datamined in terms of nitros, there is STILL one more Nitro that is actually coming to the BCP that isn't in Tour's files. You mentioned about Piranha Plant Cove, the Bathroom course and mobDK but here's the thing... 4 nitros in total for Waves 5 & 6. I think it makes total sense for the final nitro to be a Halloween themed one. Whatever mobNU (or something that started with N) was in the datamines is never mentioned and Halloween fits perfect as one of the occasions to have a Nitro Tour like Ninja Hideaway and Sky-High Sundae. It makes total sense why the datamines stopped at 4th Anniversary, cause Nintendo is likely working on the nitro course for this year's Halloween Tour. It's not dead until Nintendo says they're done, even with the content. Even at that, Tour will live with recycled tours. When I refer to recycle I meant reused.

Mario Kart Tour feels like it is dying a slow death. Significantly fewer original HEs, legacy HEs being spotlight drivers, many HEs and Supers being locked to ranked rewards, too many retro tracks being released simultaneously, overpromoting Mii Suits, track quality is significantly lower now.

@@Keenangoal It’s not the quantity of drivers but the quality. Too many recolored alts, too many Mario/Peach/Bowser/Luigi/Daisy/Rosalina alts, not enough original characters, most alts are just reused assets and character models from other games. When we used to have Baby Rosalina Detective, Waluigi Bus Driver, Pirate Bowser Jr., Lederhosen Luigi, and SNES Donkey Kong, we now have Red Birdo, Gold Luigi Knight, and Mario in Odyssey wear. The last original alt was Wintertime Larry if not Tourist Toad. The last original character we have is Poochy and before that Charging Chuck over a year ago. Some of these alts are even locked behind tanked so if you didn’t get them you ate out of luck. Many karts and gliders are also now just recolored existing karts and gliders. The game is releasing 2-3 new tracks with variants every tour now, with even some like Luigi Circuit that have been in the data for years. Other tours would usually have just 1-2 new tracks a tour. You can tell the game is dying.

It all depends on how the games can earn money to a company. If the game doesn't do well, it will end. After all, servers, maintenance and other stuff is not cheap.

Well probably one of the biggest reasons is that all the tour cities and nitros are all being ported to the Booster course pass and probably when they are done with all this they are probably just going to stop bringing new content to the game because it will just be too much content for the DLC to fit it in.

I just have one question about this. Based on the prefix leak, there are still 4 more Tour Nitros to add. The leaks have shown three (MobDK, MobBR, and PP Cove) so that would mean there’s one more, the one with the enclosure objects. So is there still one more Nitro to go or was it a mess up and there’s still another retro to be added from any game? Thoughts?

With the Booster Course Pass in MK8D essentially being made for the purpose of putting these tracks permanently into a console game, I assume that when they've completed it with Wave 6, the future of Tour will likely be sealed.

I say that Mario Kart Tour will end at the end of 2024/2025 because they might be making tracks for the next Mario Kart game(s) (whenever that happens) and they might want to port as much tracks that they can so future Mario Kart Games don’t take too long to make because they’ll have most of the track models in tour but I could be wrong.

I never liked Mario Kart tour, it just doesn't work on mobile. I don't like how you can't pick any track to race on, it has to be event only tracks and all those combo notifications on the screen while racing, it's too distracting. Mario Kart should just stay in console. I rather have Nintendo shut down the mobile app and focus on giving us a new mario kart on console.

If Tour’s Coming To a end,wouldn’t Make sense that all content;Tracks,Vehicles,Gliders & Characters including Alts,that aren’t available in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Gets added in a future update Like a Booster Chatacters/Vehicles Pass,which is recently the speculation subject for the future of The Best selling of the Mario kart series so far,& Because of the switch 2 Rumors it Wouldn’t be REALISTIC That Nintendo themselves Put all this content Later in MK8DX on the Switch 2 when it’s get released/Launched when They probably bring Mario Kart 9 or whatever the Next Mainline Installment of the series is called,so when Mario Kart Tour shuts down,all that content should port over to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe!!!

I don't think they care that much about that. If they did, games like Miitomo or Dr. Mario World probably would still be up in some way like an offline Switch version or on a permanent drought of new content.
