Ukraine could have prevented Russian gas to Hungary, Slovakia and many others if they chose. They didn’t. They honored the contract. For Hungary and Slovakia to whine about their difficulties, while creating problems at every turn for Ukraine is shameful. Exactly, they have only themselves to blame.

Slovakia has 70% of annual consumption in underground storage. It was Fico's government built that after 2008 crisis. Slovakia will have problem only in peak winter, compressors and pipes are not big enough to cover that volume. Is connectet throu Polant to baltic terminal and of course Družba can deliverer gas from Germany. Slovakia is more than ready, just Fico is lickig Putin's ass

@@GotterVibezyou need to do your homework before making such statements. There IS another pipeline from Russia. Look it up! It is called the TurkStream pipeline (Operational since Jan 2020) that goes From Russia under Black Sea to Turkey. From here it goes north through Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Hungary and Austria. Please note: each kisses the Ring of Putin when EU discusses any type economic penalties for Russia for continuing a war on a sovereign nation.

Now Slovakia, Austria and Hungary will use german built LNG infrastructure to replace their energy requirements? Prices increasing here in meantime. And Ukraine charged ruzzia all the time gas transfer fees? Guys, we must talk about further support for Ukraine. Germany should look for itself and start trade negotiations with ruzzia. You don't have to love your car dealer, just to buy a car.

Argentine is planning to improve production, infrastructure, and gas exports from its Vaca Muerta fields in the not-too-distant future. The European market should welcome it. When peace comes Ukraine can export production from its 1.2 trillion cubic meters (tcm) shale gas reserves.

Let the gas flow just charge Slovakia whatever you feel like for transit. 5 billion instead of 1 billion. Should be at least equal to price of LNG via EU pipelines. Putin will no doubt launder 10 or 20 billion to get Slovakia the bucks. So this will strip Russia of far far more than they make.

The second pipe line from NordStream 2 is intact and is not affected by Ukrainian blackmail. Why does the EU not assist its own members obtaining normal priced gas for their people?

Austria, Hungary and Slovakia are not at war with Russia. Neighter is the EU or NATO. Supporting Ukraine should not mean hurting your own country. It is Ukraine's right to shut down Russian gas transit throught its own territory but I don't think they will make friends with this action. Hungary and Slovakia are EU and NATO members. Ukraine wants to join both. As a beggar, you should never bite the hand that feeds you....
