I lost my wife of 36 years to this terrible cancer March 18th 2022. I'm still hurting so bad from losing the love of my life.

My mum has been diagnosed with SCLC just yesterday, doctors don’t think it’s spread past her left lung but she will now go through a staging process to be 100% sure. Chemotherapy will start on Friday next week. Honestly, I’m not ready to lose my mum and watch her go through all of this, she seems very well with just a cough and slight breathlessness but I know things are going to get worse for and I can’t bare the thought of watching her suffer. It breaks my heart so much but I know, I have to stay strong for her. I don’t know what approach to take when moving forward for treatment, we meet with her specialists on Wednesday next week to discuss her treatment plan. I know all odds are against her but I have to have faith that she can be saved because if I don’t hold on to that then I’ll crumble. Please, I can’t find where you work from in the uk? I need to what kind of treatment you could offer her and the cost of such treatment. I can’t put a price on my mother’s life and am willing to exhaust every avenue I can to help her. She is all I have. Please get in touch. Thank you.

My mum had this, caught it small enough on the lung that surgery was still an option, unfortunately as small as it was , its still escaped to lymph nodes before they were taken out in the same operation. 6 powerful doses of chemo followed shortly after, as did 9 radiation treatments on the brain. Full body scan later revealed no sign of cancer in torso what so ever, but there was a concern over a tiny ct brain scan result, very tiny. After giving her a while after treatments ( roughly 6 weeks ) , apart from increasing leg weakness, her hair was coming back , and generally was going ok and was coping well despite the leg weakness troubles, with a stick she remained independant and thats what she loved, things were cruisy considering and she was nowhere sick as she thought she was going to be from the chemo, time went on with very little change, a false sense of complacency set in a bit, as if she might be one of the very few lucky ones that might stand a chance. After about 6 weeks after her treatments though, the legs were now wheelchair worthy and concern had set in as some abdominal pain had begun, thinking it might be bad constipation due to morphene , we flushed her out... no relief, it was approaching full body scan time again, so our thoughts turned to the abdo pain and what could it be , twisted bowl, damaged bowel ? Fully body scan day arrived, we get the results in couple of days ... turns out her inner torso is riddled with cancer, our hopes right there and then were shot to peices, she denied any further chemo due her failing health... she deep down knew what the result was going to be, she managed to see xmas 21’ which we didnt think would happen, but by late january , hell was starting to take place, by feb she was full time bed ridden , february 14 was the last day of vocal communications that made actual sense albeit with slight slur , it was also her last ever snack to eat, by 24th Feb , she hadnt eaten for 10 days, hadn’t drunk for 6, and apnea had set in for the previous week, then came the death rattle, this went on for days not hrs , we lost her at 10pm 24th Feb.

I wish you could help my mom. She was diagnosed May 20 of last year and I’m afraid she’s losing her battle. There really weren’t any other options left for her so doctor says maybe 3 months. We are devastated.
