Invasive species?? How many thousands and thousands of King Chinook Salmon, Coho Salmon, Steelhead Salmon and Brown Trout have we introduced into our Great Lakes?? And we continue every spring and fall. In order for these fish to grow to 20-45 lbs they need to eat a lot of our native fish not just alewives. It's not debatable. Ppl need to know more and be aware of our Great Great Lakes, peace.❤

There are a long list of fish that eat fresh water muscles. Why don't they exist in Lake Huron?

Most likely because they aren't endemic, and to introduce them may actually make a bad situation worse, as we humans have come to realize that when we make an effort like that without researching the possible problems that could take place by doing so could cause larger problems than solutions, and it might be better to let nature take care of solving these kinds of problems as it has done for a much longer history than humans have been on the planet.
