2022 was the necessary kick in the nuts for the Sonic franchise to kick it into high gear, and 2023 kept the good times going with continuations and new releases. Personally, I can't help but be optimistic for 2024 and beyond. Even if we don't get anything new in terms of releases that we don't already know about, I will be satisfied.

My thoughts on how the series should carry its momentum into 2024 is pretty much doing what they’ve been doing since 2022. As of right now the only confirmed projects releasing is Movie 3 and Sonic Prime “S3”. I personally would love 2024 to focus more on spin-offs since this year had major focus on mainline releases. I’d love a new Riders or a new Sonic fighting game next year or something like murder of Sonic where it’s just a chill fun game. 2024 is 100% gonna Shadow focused so seeing him get pushed would be nice too. But overall I’m super excited for Sonic in 2024 and it was really awesome to see Mr Fadel collab with Chaomix and Sam. All GOATED Sonic tubers fs.

An 06 remake is my number 1 candidate for a game remake. You gotta remember that this game shaped the future of Sonic which we have only just recently started to recover from. And 100%, streamers would love this game. Going full cyberpunk would be a monumental message to the gaming community

2022 and 2023 is the best year Sonic had in a long time with all the content, i have high hopes for 2024 and the future beyond, as for the remake/remasters things, i think SEGA should start with the smaller games like Heroes, Advance/Rush Games, Riders and work their way up to the bigger ones like the Adventure Games, Unleashed, etc. but yea, The Future Of Sonic is looking bright and if they do get everything right and improve on the predecessors, we could see Sonic back on top of the gaming industry and stand toe-to-toe with Mario. for the 2D side: they need to take some inspiration from Mario Wonder, make the art-style good like Hand-Drawn like the Toei/Hesse Openings, and make a 2D Modern Game. For 3D: knowing the direction they're taking, they gotta bring back the 2000s-esque they had back then, like multiple playable characters, perfect buildup, story and the lore, evolve the Frontiers Formula, bring the Titans back, make the open world environment better, improve the Cyberspace stages like they did with FInal Horizon, bring back Merry Kirk, Gaby, Kellin Quinn and the person that sang Dear Father. and one thing they gotta do is GO ALL OUT WITH THE BUDGET For the Spin-offs, we need a rhythm game, the symphony is literally so popular and the fact it would make MONEY, a Beat-em up would be cool, maybe bring back the Riders Series and remove the Kinect & bring back that Art-Style the Riders Games have and you got a perfect one, Give the Characters more time to shine in spin-offs like Tails, Silver, Blaze, etc. hell why not a RPG by Square Enix or Atlus, a Sonic-like Final Fantasy/Kingdom Hearts Game would go HARD and hell why not make a Rush 3 or an Advance 4. for a Fighting Game, they can go HAM with the roster, the story and everything they can do, if there's any studio that can do it, Arc System Works would be perfect considering they made DBFZ which is one of my favourite fighting games of all time and to see Arc take a crack at a Sonic Fighting Game would be perfect for Multimedia, it's time for an Animated Sonic Movie, it's wild how we've never gotten one, they can experiment so much with it & a New Sonic Anime, i love Sonic X but we need more of Sonic in the Shonen/Anime area more, have it be done by Trigger or Madhouse, original story/arcs, characters, etc and you got a good anime with everything you listed in the video with the gang, if they do EVER happen, we'd be living in a good future, it's still being used as the punching bag by people, but outside the internet. People are starting to like Sonic and SEGA's taking their mascot seriously again and i'm excited to see where they go after Frontiers, Superstars and Dream Team. here's to reaching new heights and new horizons. 💙

Sonic fans ate good this year. I've been a fan of the series basically since it started and it feels good to be seeing these kinds of discussions and not just endless negativity because the series is in a bad place. Its still got a ways to go but for the first time in a long time the future looks bright. Idk what id want to see in the future but I really feel like as far as 3D goes, Frontiers set a new standard that I hope they continue to refine. I just imagine the open zone gameplay but in a more populated world like SA1, Unleashed and even 06 and what that would look like. Like what would towns and cities look while also keeping the more open wilderness areas? Thats probably way too ambitious but maybe not? As for 2D I think expanding on the classic formula wouldnt hurt. I know people love to keep it simple but I feel liek if they just released another Mania people would feel let down by it. Hell, you have some people who are even a bit down on Mania because its a lot of rehashed zones from previous games. They have so much more they can do with 2D and classic that it feels like a disservice to just keep making games like the Genesis era games. Man what a time to be a Sonic fan. I love it haha

Yeah Boiiiiiiiii! Sonic Council Strikes Again! I really want to see more collaborations for the next year for sure. That was such a really fun one and half our of listening to your SonicTube podcast with Chaomix and Sam Procrasinates. To the expectations I have, I really want to see if side team would do something as similar as The Murder of Sonic The Hedgehog, I would like to see how Sonic Prime will end, and definately I want to see if we could get a surprise like Sonic Dream Team (although not for Apple exclusivity). This year for Sonic was great, and even if it wasn't THAT memorable like the previous one, I can gladly say that I am ready for what we will see this time around. (Also... Since i joined the blue blur's adventures since 91'. There has been a constant evolution. From design, ideas, concepts, and music. When I did a deep dive with the Frontiers dlc soundtrack. It actually has cues from past games hidden in the melody. Ohtani & friends love putting Easter eggs in their music. I would definitely think a remaster of the Dreamcast games can totally happen. I’d be up for a Sonic Rush 3. Or maybe a Silver or Blaze spin off. There’s still so much we don’t know about Silver’s future, or the Sol dimension. Silver and Blaze could have their own villains to square off aginst. Heck, a storyline involving Silver, time travel, and Eggman Nega manipulating a rogue Sage would be cool. Imagine, a dark future where Eggman is dead, and Sonic is framed, Eggman Nega manipulates a now evil Sage into destroying Sonic’s present, to create the metallic future her father desired.

A ground-up remake of 06 could redeem the original to the gaming world while also satisfying the desire for an Adventure-style sonic game. It would be a huge undertaking for sure, and revamping the story would be needed to emphasize its best themes. But I think it would go a long way for bringing positive attention to the series. Edit: Sega could totally rebrand the game and slot it into the current timeline thanks to the time-travel aspect. They could name it “Legend of Soleanna” or something

I think the real "problem with Sonic's friends" is that they try to include all of them in one game oftentimes, where it would be better imo to just include characters that make sense. Like, to give a handful of characters spotlight in one game, then maybe include some others in the next. For instance, they didn't use Shadow at all in Frontiers (which is great imo), so now it would be more exciting when he does appear in a future game.
