It seems that individual builders have so much better ideas and build quality than the RV manufacturers. Innovation! Good job on that Sprinter build.

I agree. I especially love the amount of counter space and drawer space for small appliances they have in the kitchen. So many class b rvs have inadequate kitchens imo..

Great video with a charming couple. The recycling shower is amazing, the large kitchen sink makes cleaning up easier, the large pantry can hold enough to keep a person off grid for a while, love the composting toilet, the solar is great, and the storage space beneath it and in the back of the van could hold an amazing amount of things. This is one cool van. I love the lady’s quote about the ten year idea. LOL 😂 Thanks.

I love this build! Granted it is not cheap rv living. I’m guessing upwards of 100,000. But the well thought out, creative plan is awesome! The galley is a bit too narrow for my claustrophobic self but still absolutely awesome.
@ancientsojourners71422 жыл бұрын
Yes, the galley is certainly tight! For us, it was a trade off to have the storage we needed plus the openness of the back. I would say total cost including the van itself was closer to 90k 😁
@janiceoldham17942 жыл бұрын
Wow, that is a lot of bang for your buck. I thought about it and if you lived in a house in California or similar locale, 90,000 is much cheaper living than a million dollar home, taxes, insurance etc.

Amazing build by amazing people. Just need a piano in there somewhere and you guys are all set. Haha. Wanted to also say, there've been many who've asked and wondered about price/cost. For me, on the otherhand, seems to be more about what you've gained rather than what $$ was spent. And how the focus on enriching your lives by yielding happiness and a sense of bother wonder and wander. Going all in and looking ahead for where life takes you guys is inspirational, brave and so beautiful. This country by no means is a cakewalk of hazard free safety. But please be careful in countries south of this one. Mexico, central and south America are beautiful, but do be careful. Hate to say it, but for safety reasons, maybe say your both from Australia once you head down south that way. Thanks for sharing yourselves and your home with us all. Hoping for continued happy travels. Two key words for happiness and sustainability...SPICE RACK!!!

Hi David and Meehae 🙋 The water recirculation shower sounds interesting... Was it a good choice in hindsight? Is it odour free? Which one did you go for? Did you install it yourself or does it need professional fitter? Excellent job on your van build, Congratulations, Good Luck and Enjoy!!!👏👏👏👌💪💛💛💛

Thank you 🙏🏾 We are still working out the kinks with the reserc shower. There’s a bit of a bio film smell that we’re trying to get rid of completely. Getting better, but trying different ways to shock the system. We installed it ourselves. There are some good diys on KZbin that we gleamed from. Even with the bio film smell, it is nice having the freedom of 20 minute hot showers 😁
@netshooter1234562 жыл бұрын
Love this thoughtful design! Would like to know more about your recycling shower system and the diesel heater system, thanks
@ancientsojourners56612 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment! There are some really good DIY videos on recirculating showers on KZbin that we gleaned from. We used a hydronic diesel heater system (espar hydronic heater) so that we can utilize one heating component for all three heating needs that we have in our van. It was much more cost-effective than getting a water heater and a separate heater for the cabin. Also, the heating system provides continuous on-demand hot water as needed… so we are able to take 20 minute hot showers if we want to 😃

That was put together amazingly fast! Loved to see so many cool concepts come together and work. Wanted to know more about their power use.
