19:20 the assistant may come from your office *OR* another location. This is mentioned in the rules on page 5 under location actions. On that same note...35:55 the assistant may also come another location.

2:35:40 Edward did place that reputation tile (coming from the 3rd work of art slot) and took the executive action in the wrong order. You only get to place that reputation tile at the end of your turn, means he would have had to take that Executive action first... (Rulebook page 8: "If a Reputation tile was on the slot, the Player places it over the displayed Work of Art until he finishes his turn. At the end of his turn, he places the tile..."). Means, he wouldn't have had those 2 additional tickets he got from placing the reputation tile to use that turn. He also forgot to put one from the lobby to the plaza after placing the reputation tile, but with the correct order he would have been able to move that one white dude to the gallery anyways before that would have happened.

One of my top euros. Components and art is Rolls Royce. The insert fills the box perfectly with no rattle sound. I have seen worse setup games. Share the work and it is done in few minutes, No argument. Teaching - I always start with the end score sequence with examples. New players will then have an idea of what is the purpose of actions that will be explained next. - This was my highest priority purchase when it was introduced at Essen. As son as the door open - I rushed to the boot. Picked it up and got Vital signature. He got beautiful signature, well suited for this game.

Great play trough. Couldn’t follow all of it live but that was fun, Edward even managed with a half play of the game to get it to tiebreaker, nice job. Now I have to get my copy to the table, been a while now since I played it. Thanks for pleasant watch guys. Cheers

Nice treat to see a three player game of The Gallerist. Every playthrough I've ever come across has been the solo game (Which looks super fun, in fairness) so was nice to see it played multiplayer.

1:50:00 You can only bump the fame of the artist which you promoted. That's what Edward ended up doing, but he actually had no choice ;)

This has been such a treat to see! In my gaming group there was a guy who had this. Myself, him, and another guy loved to play this. But they both moved away, and I haven't played since. :-/

Glad you enjoyed it, dajacra, but man, that's a bummer to read. Sorry to hear.

I didn't see it mentioned in the chat, but assistants on the board that were left behind can always be taken back to use for an executive action on player boards or to use in the international market. Also assistants that were kicked out can also be used for the kicked out action.

During his very first move, I watched Edward not use the influence track to save one dollar. I literally said out loud, "That;s gonna come back to bite him". What a great game.

@Ed right there with you - Vinhos and Kanban are way easier to get your head around than this one. There are far more interacting parts here and a number of side tracking things that makes this one more difficult for a first time play, in my opinion. I've only played it once and started to get to grips with what can be done and why part way through. Never had that issue with other Lacerda games yet

Enjoyed this. Lacerda is some sort of heavy-euro genius and coupled with O'Toole's graphic design there's an easy to follow entry into learning and playing the game. Still a bit of a beast as it has so many moving parts and so many paths to victory. Aside from the not-very-often meeple draw from the bag there is just very little randomness. Vinhos, CO2 (so looking forward to the KS update), Kanban, The Gallerist, Lisboa... my god. That's a beautiful list of some of the best, heaviest euros that I've ever played that actually has theme-related mechanics which again makes gameplay so much smoother than other heavy euros I've played. I hope to see many, many more heavy euro strategy games from Vital and I'll always buy whatever he designs.

My copy of The Gallerist arrived as a kickstarter addon the other day, so I'm watching this video in lieu of reading the rules. Biggest takeaway so far: After a year+ of pandemic lockdown Edward's coughing is REALLY making me cringe. :-)

This game pretty much ruined all other generic, bland, traditional vegetable/mineral hoarding euros for me. Who said eurogames can't be thematic? And even if borderline "over-produced", the visual quality is so pleasing :) .

It has theme oozing from all actions, it makes sense mechanically, the art is wonderful and the graphic design is just superb. A truly great meld of designer and artist/graphic design between Vital and Ian. And then the production quality, I think it's amazing - for a game about art, using lesser quality cardboard etc would have been a shame - maybe "over-produced" to some, but to me, EGG nailed the production.
