How did you get the video quality to look this good? I genuinely want to know so i could apply it myself.

@@OfficialOacus I have the Mickey Mouse in Black and White dvd set (Walt Disney Treasures). All the cartoons were ripped from it, including this one, and I upscaled it to 1080p via Premiere Elements to avoid downgrading the original quality (which youtube seems to do with such uploads).

That's swell, it doesn't look like it looses it's details! Does it take alot of computer power or storage to upscale it like that? By the way, the reason they're downgraded when the raw file is just uploaded to KZbin is because the image quality of a DVD and it's contents is standard definition, 480p, as they were originally meant to be shown in low-res square TVs running in 30 fields per second.

@@OfficialOacus Yeah, that certainly sounds on spot, only catch is the black bars on the side as a result of the 1080p, but I suppose there are worse things. As for my PC, I can't tell how much power it needs (I have a very powerful PC build, so it wouldn't reflect the average), but storage wise, the exported mp4 file itself would end up ~1.6GB.

@@TheToonkeeper The bars are fine, they just need cropping. Do you think it would work with the color cartoons?

@@OfficialOacus I don't see why it wouldn't.

technically this isnt on public domain, the copyright is from 1929

If you're referring to the copyright line on the title card, I'm actually not sure why it reads like this here (and for Steamboat Willie too for that matter). Still stands though that the sound version of this was released in 1928 (just making the cutoff at December 30), so it's in public domain. Plane Crazy though is a different story, released with sound in 1929 despite being the first-produced Mickey short, so the sound version of that short (aka the only circulated print of this) is still under copyright for another year.

No only the silent version is public domain this one is only public domain without sound because of it being rereleased
